PROJECT OVERVIEW:
Standing up and administering Linux and Windows based network computer systems.
JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Take full responsibility of multiple existing networks that utilize multiple ISP links, VPN remote connectivity, complex routing, and administer firewalls based on Linux and FreeBSD.
Provide system-engineering services to troubleshoot/correct network, system and software failures as reported by network users of the networks or by automated systems.
Assist in achieving CMMC compliance, including documentation of policies and procedures, as well as implementation of those policies.
Eagerness and competency communicating progress in written and oral form to management and customers directly (network diagrams, penetration testing reports, etc.).
Applying system updates and configuration for various Linux (Rocky, Ubuntu, etc.) and Windows systems.
Maintaining inventory lists and monitoring/logging infrastructure for compliance, security, and organization.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Security Clearance: Secret Required, TS/SCI Desired.
4+ years experience with Linux including routing, iptables, ufw, firewalld, ldap, etc.
2+ years experience in Windows administration including domain controllers and group policies, in a combined Linux/Windows network environment.
BS in computer science or similar or equivalent work experience.
Ability to lead entry level system administrators.
Ability and willingness to be flexible and eager to take on tasks.
DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Devops experience including virtualization technologies (Docker, KVM/Libvirt, Vmware, Proxmox, etc.).
Active Directory, DNS and Group Policy expertise.
Ability to rack and configure servers and support systems including switches, PDUs, UPSes, etc.
Ability to develop novel solutions to unique needs and situations as they arise.
