SummaryThe Senior OnBase system administrator is responsible for the administration and support of the client’s OnBase platform and associated services. This position requires maintaining proper configuration and access controls as well as supporting business solutions in the areas of document management, workflow, imaging, and integration with business applications. In addition, this position is responsible for monitoring new trends in technology that will impact the OnBase platform and lead strategic technology projects to further the continual improvement of OIT provided services.
Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesPlatform Administration – 40%
Administer and maintain the University's OnBase platform, which includes installing new software releases and system upgrades, evaluating and installing patches, and conducting application/configuration migrations, refreshes, and restores.
Collaborate with infrastructure providers to determine requirements for deploying database, web, and application servers in a multi-instance environment.
Specify and verify the architecture for OnBase integration with other application systems.
Customer Support/Problem Resolution – 30%
Work with IT colleagues and/or the Hyland OnBase vendor to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues and collaborates with the development team to implement solutions.
Monitor the OnBase system for high availability, load balancing, and satisfactory response time to ensure performance and reliability adhere to service level standards.
Collaborate with other IT professionals to resolve performance issues.
Administer OnBase security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
Develop instructions/documentation.
Architectural Strategy – 10%
Partner with the Senior Manager on projects that involve OnBase architecture and document storage platforms.
Research and keep abreast of trends in technology that impact enterprise content management.
Partnering with the Senior Manager, research and assess Hyland’s developing cloud and containerization opportunities and roadmap.
Provide input on the improvement and future direction of the OnBase service.
Vendor Management – 20%
Work with the Hyland vendor support to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues.
Collaborate with vendor support and development teams to implement maintenance patches and upgrades.
Participate in contract and licensing discussions to provide platform related information and suggestions to optimize the solution from a contract/license perspective.
ESSENTIAL Qualifications
5+ years of experience as an application administrator using Windows/IIS, including a minimum of 3 years’ experience as an OnBase administrator.
Demonstrated experience installing, upgrading, enhancing and supporting various large-scale administrative applications, including Hyland’s OnBase ECM software.
Ability to develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of OnBase administration tasks including security, roles, users, managing errors and installation.
Ability to triage, troubleshoot, and resolve OnBase issues, understanding and supporting processes and OnBase applications across multiple business areas.
Ability to maintain proper configuration and access control across environments.
Possess certifications in Hyland OnBase Certified System Administration (OCSA) and OnBase Certified Workflow Administration (OCWA).
Demonstrated experience with implementing/troubleshooting IIS and Windows server 2012/2016/2019.
Experience with MS SQL server database 2016 or higher.
Highly motivated and self-directed with strong interpersonal and oral/written communication skills.
Ability to prioritize and multi-task between projects and applications.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience working in and contributing to a team-oriented and collaborative environment that values positive, collegial relationships among co-workers.
PREFERRED Qualifications
Experience with OnBase Workflow Studio Export, Utils Import/Export Configuration, and Configuration Migration.
SQL Scripting, PL/SQL.
Experience in a higher education setting.
Experience with ServiceNow.
Experience with OnBase API, C#, VBScript, and/or PowerShell scripting.
