Role DescriptionThis is a full-time on-site role for a Substance Abuse/Mental Health Counselor. The Substance Abuse/Mental Health Counselor will be responsible for conducting assessments, providing individual and group therapy, and case management. They will also be working with families to provide therapy and support, in addition to collaborating with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans for patients.

Compensation and Benefits:Salary: $54,000 - $66,500A generous PTO package (3 weeks of PTO, 7 paid holidays, 3 floating holidays, & 2 mental health days)Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance (90% to 100% premium covered by employer)ST and LT disabilityPet insuranceOpt-in 401k with 4% matchAccess to our comprehensive Employee Assistance Program, providing 24/7/365 access to a licensed professional for staff and their immediate familiesDuties and Responsibilities of the Counselor/Therapist are included but not limited to:Conduct assessments on clients utilizing SFRC's biopsychosocial assessment (BPS) risk assessment and other evaluation tools to determine the ASAM criteria.Provide individual and group therapy utilizing evidence-based and best practices in SUD treatment, psycho-education cognitive/behavioral methods, motivational interviewing, and holistic other therapeutic modalities.Coordinate and collaborate with the Case Manager to provide referral services at other agencies for services not provided by SFRC.Participates in initial and ongoing training on EBPs utilized for client service delivery. Maintains fidelity to the EBPs being utilized.Requirements:

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:Strong foundation in Social Work, Psychology, and Mental HealthExperience in Case Management, Family Therapy, and/or other relevant fieldsKnowledge of evidence-based therapeutic modalities for substance use and mental health disordersExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamCurrent licensure or eligibility for licensure in New Mexico as a clinical therapistExperience with co-occurring disorders is a plusMaster's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related fieldAlso accepting LSAA and LADAC licensesEducation and Experience:Current New Mexico License as a Mental Health Counselor or Therapist (Independent License Preferred) - LSAA, LADAC, LMCH, LMSW, LPCC, LCSWPrefer at least two years of experience working with clients with co-occurring mental health/substance abuse diagnoses, providing individual and group psychotherapy.Must be computer literate to effectively maintain compliance with BHSD Standards and requirements for the use of computerized client assessments, data systems, etc.Maintain current, valid NM Driver's License. Must also have and maintain a clean driving record and auto insurance.Bi-lingual/Bi-cultural preferred. (English/Spanish)PM21
