JOB DESCRIPTION:
VAE is looking for an experienced engineer with deep working knowledge of InfoVista Service Assurance Suite and related Performance Management technologies. This employee will be a member of a DoD Contract Infrastructure team and will provide expertise in report design, metric development, maintenance, and optimization in support of critical business functions. The ideal candidate will be flexible and flourish in a fast paced and challenging environment. They should be a self-starter, self-motivator and possess ingenuity to excel at this position.
Operations focus:Provisioning, developing, integrating, extending the above vendor solutions:Able to read/write “integration” code using Perl, Shell, Python and PLSQL languagesSkillful with typical collection protocols such as SNMP, WMI, VMWare API, SMI, and RestAPIUnderstanding of XML and JSON formattingActively participates in operations management advanced troubleshooting (tier 3 support)Interacts directly with customers and executivesActively participates/leads multi-customer ‘tiger teams’ to solve complex, chronic IT problemsPresents complex information to non-technical executive groupsManages large-scale, real-time performance management solutionAble to perform and accurately analyze packet captures using tcpdump and/or other available softwareOther SkillsActs as ombudsman for customerProvides routine, ad-hoc reports to executives, technical support, projects, and engineering personnelMentors junior staff
