Position: IT Field Service Technician

JOB DESCRIPTION:

In this role, you'll be assisting & supporting the design & implementation of varied client physical networks, systems, and data systems. This would include client onboardings, server migrations, O365 migrations, supporting issues with systems or networks, assisting with hardware, remote access solutions, administration and maintenance. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • 2+ years of Help Desk, Technical Support, Field Technician or related experience
  • Experience with user administration using Active Directory (adding/removing users, manipulating users/groups), doing Office 365 Administration through the Admin Portal/Center, and Exchange mailbox creation.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, setup or configure hardware such as printers, laptops & mobile devices
  • Comfortable doing network maintenance, network server checks, scanning server logs, etc.
  • Knowledge of firewalls, switches, wireless access points (WAP) and VLANs
  • Knowledge of Windows Server and workstations
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals such as TCP/IP, subnetting, routing, DNS, DHCP, Ping, Traceroute
  • Good understanding of firewalls to get clients remotely connected with a VPN
  • Experience working with and providing support utilizing Remote Management Tools like ConnectWise
  • Comfortable interacting with clients over the phone, chat or face-to-face
  • Confident and comfortable with client facing activity

BONUS EXPERIENCE:

  • Certifications such as Watchguard, CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certifications or Cisco Certifications
  • Experience with any of the following: ConnectWise, IT Glue, Group Policy, Solarwinds, WatchGuard, Ruckus, Veeam, Cisco Networking Products, Ubiquiti, VMWare, Dell, or Adobe
  • Experience working for an IT managed service provider
  • Experience with LAN/WAN, Routers, Switches, Watchguard Firewalls, Access Points, VPN, Citrix, VoIP, etc.
  • Familiarity with how to access virtual machines from hosts using VMware or Hyper-V

  • Grand Rapids, MI area (Hybrid/Remote 2 days per week)
