JOB SUMMARY: Under general direction, the Process Modeler is responsible for customer assessment and modeling engagements. In addition, this position supports the improvement of
Equipment designs, transferring information from the Plant Model to Aspen Custom Modeler. This includes work in the areas of computational fluid dynamics, mass and energy balances, process modeling, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer using state-of-the-art computer modeling techniques, advanced engineering measurements, and analytical calculation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform facility assessments and modeling engagements to improve customer facility performance in energy, yield, capacity, water and wastewater consumption. Conceive of and design processes and equipment to improve the industries
beginning with theoretical design, followed by modeling and recommended improvements. Work with Field Services teams to execute recommended improvements. This work will be conducted across all processing capability areas (Extraction, Preparation, Specialty, Refining, and SPC).
Demonstrate advanced application knowledge of computer-aided engineering and other analytical methods including process and equipment modeling.
Provide engineering support, guidance, and technical assistance to project managers, process engineers, salesmen, and designers.
Perform various engineering calculations and analyses related to process design and equipment sizing and selection.
Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS
PHD degree in Chemical Engineering.
Minimum 10 years related experience
Proficient in the following skills:
o Theoretical application of engineering principles for calculating and estimating process performance
o Aspen Custom Modeler or equivalent simulation software
o Creating customized-engineering models to simulate material and energy balances, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, energy and mass transfer, separations technologies, chemical-reaction kinetics, and reactor design.
