Business Application Support Analyst (On Site)

We are seeking a dedicated IT Business Analyst to support and enhance our revenue cycle applications, focusing on monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing our systems. This role will collaborate with accounting, patient accounting, and front desk teams to ensure accurate charge reconciliation and efficient operation of the Athena platform, including Athena Collector, Athena Communicator, HealthNote and RCx rules.
Job Relationships
Reports to the Manager, IT Business Systems
Principal Responsibilities
Monitor and manage application tickets and emails related to revenue cycle issues.
Support the accounting and patient accounting teams in troubleshooting and resolving provider charge discrepancies.
Analyze and identify reasons for un-reconciled charges within the revenue cycle systems.
Collaborate with stakeholders to build and enhance applications that support revenue cycle processes.
Understand and optimize the functionality of Athena Collector and registration/billing modules.
Provide insights into how RCx rules and health note affect front desk operations and patient accounting.
Facilitate training sessions and create documentation for end-users to ensure effective use of revenue cycle applications.
Work closely with technical teams to implement solutions and improvements based on user feedback and operational needs.
Stay current with healthcare revenue cycle trends and best practices to inform system enhancements.
Comply with the Springfield Clinic incident reporting policy and procedures.
Adhere to all OSHA and Springfield Clinic training & accomplishments as required per policy.
Provide excellent customer service and adhere to Springfield Clinic's Code of Conduct and Ethics Standards.
Perform other job duties as assigned.
Education/Experience
Experience as a Business Analyst in a healthcare or IT environment, with a focus on revenue cycle management.
Strong understanding of healthcare revenue cycle processes, including registration, billing, and collections.
Familiarity with Athena applications, especially Athena Collector, and their impact on revenue cycle operations.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams.
Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
Experience with troubleshooting and managing healthcare applications.
Knowledge of charge capture processes and reconciliation within a healthcare setting.
Understanding of healthcare compliance and regulatory requirements.
Working Environment
Normal office environment, sitting 90% of the time.
Team oriented environment utilizing collaboration with peers.
Ability to lift, move or carry equipment or supplies of varying sizes and shapes, weighing up to 45 lbs.
