What we do:
The Electrical Wiring Design Engineer, Powertrain will lead the design and test of Powertrain propulsion system wiring. The Powertrain team is responsible for designing, integrating, qualifying, and certifying energy storage systems, high voltage distribution, electric motors, and power electronics. This role will work closely with Battery Technology, Airframe, Assembly & Integration, Vehicle Management Systems, Flight Controls, System Safety teams, and suppliers.
What you can do:
Collaborate with the Powertrain and other Air Vehicle teams to develop electrical system requirements Translate requirements into system distribution architecture, layout, and design, including bonding and grounding Design and size cable bundles, wire harnesses, and wire routing to industry standards Select aerospace connectors and EMI cable shielding to ensure safety and system separation requirements are met Design to industry standards and using wiring design toolboxes within CATIA Develop 2D wiring schematics and 3D installation drawings Perform voltage drop analysis, thermal performance, and electrical loads analysis Work with the flight tech team to define efficiencies calculations and weight management Collaborate with suppliers to ensure successful program execution and compliance with requirements Participate in multi-functional working groups to identify optimal routing of power distribution cables. Hands-on abilities with harness build, validation, and troubleshooting
What you can contribute:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering required; Master's degree preferred Minimum three (3) years of experience in engineering (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered) Experience with the full life cycle of aircraft electrical harness design, qualification, production, and product support Experience with vehicle checkout and testing Knowledge of Electrical Wiring Aerospace Standards Knowledge of Aircraft EMI / EMC design and testing Familiarity with FAA part 23/25/27/28 or other certification experience Knowledge of high-power, 800 VDC aviation distribution systems Ability to identify and communicate risks and drive issues to closure Experience in the EV automotive or electric aviation industry Familiarity with wiring and cable bundle thermal management installation considerations Experience designing electrical wiring for high-power, 600+ VDC distribution systems Experience working with regulatory agencies Experience working on vertical lift aircraft Familiarity with RTCA DO-160 and SAE AS50881 Proactive delivery of communication and follow-up Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Must have the ability to independently prioritize and accomplish work within time constraints Proficiency with Excel VLOOKUP, pivot tables, MS Office Suite

Base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and location. This position is also eligible for a bonus as part of total compensation.
The pay range for this position is: $108,923—$126,127 USD
