The FactorEarth team (https://factorearth.com/) at Metcalf Archaeological Consultants, Inc. has an open UI/UX Designer position, starting immediately. This position is full-time and eligible for all benefits offered by the company, including health insurance, paid time off, 401(k) plan, employee assistance program, and Employee Stock Ownership Plan. The compensation for this position is $35 to $45 per hour, depending on experience. Additionally, flexible hours and partial or fully remote work is available for this role.We are looking for a proactive, responsible, and creative designer to join our team who is passionate about bringing our users the best app experience. Conduct user research to gather insights into user needs and behaviors.Create user personas, journey maps, and wireframes to guide the design process.Design UI elements such as menus, tabs, widgets, and more, focusing on maximizing usability and improving the overall user experience.Prototype and iterate on designs based on user feedback and developer input.Collaborate with developers to ensure accurate implementation of designs and conduct post-launch usability testing to inform future iterations.Stay in touch with modern design standards, techniques, and ideas.Work Conditions and Physical Demands

The basic qualifications for this position are:Proven experience as a UX Designer, UI Designer, or similar role with a strong portfolio of design projects.Proficiency in design software (e.g., Figma).Understanding of HTML, CSS, and some JavaScript for rapid prototyping.Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction.Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively.Up-to-date with the latest UI trends, techniques, and technologies.Excellent communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders.Preferred candidates will also have the following qualifications:Experience using component libraries (e.g., Storybook).Experience conducting post-launch usability testing to inform future iterations.
