We are currently seeking a Senior Industrial Architect in our Ann Arbor, MI office. The Senior Industrial Architect will lead design efforts as a project manager or lead engineer for moderate to complex projects, and lead design efforts with limited support required from senior staff for the delivery of larger and high complexity projects. They will work closely with a team of architects, engineers and consultants to provide project direction, facilities solutions and advice to industrial clients to ensure positive outcomes. Primary responsibilities will include project management, analysis, design and implementation oversight of industrial facilities design. Additional responsibilities will include working within the project’s monetary budget, assisting in training and mentoring efforts, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations.Principal Responsibilities

Coordinate, oversee and manage projects ranging in size and complexityAssist Project Executives and Client Executives with design scopes of work and fee calculations for proposal generation as well as with contract reviewsCreate project schedules including targets for milestones and deadlinesServe as the point of contact for teams and clientsCollaboration with clients on project requirementsCreate monthly billings and submit financial information to Accounting in a timely manner; Update billing projections and estimated completion percentage for all projects monthlyEnsure design follows owner standards and requirements, IMEG standards and code requirements; Ensure design milestone deliverables are achieved, IMEG and client quality control processes are completed, and construction technical support occurs in a timely mannerCollaborate with design staff and coordinate scheduling of projects during all phases of design and construction; Schedule and lead progress meetings and provide meeting documentationConduct construction site visits and provide documentation as needed or requestedRespond to and resolve client/construction concerns; Manage change orders and obtain appropriate approvalsProgram development.Site planning and ordinance reviewPreparation of Schematic Design, Design Development, and Construction DocumentsPrepare code reviewsCoordination of documents with related engineering disciplines, including Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Suppression, Structural, and CivilDevelop written reports/studiesDevelop cost estimates for projectsProduct / material specification developmentAssist in the continuous updating of department standards and contract specifications.Design of building environments (including, but not limited to, building enclosure, and interior office, lab, production, and storage areas)Check shop drawings (manufacturer's submittals of proposed equipment and systems to be used on the project)Train, mentor, and motivate staffBuild, maintain, and develop client relationshipsRequired Skills/Abilities

Demonstrated leadership traits in the Project Management career pathAdept in the technical aspects of one’s disciplineKnowledge of local, state, and federal building codes and OSHA compliance requirementsFamiliarity with Hazardous Material Codes a plusSkilled in AutoCAD and Revit softwareAbility to mentor, train, motivate, and lead othersAbility to perform final quality control check in their area of expertiseAbility to sell work and develop client relationshipsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work collaboratively in a team environmentAttention to detail and problem-solving skillsEagerness to adapt to new challengesProficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and OutlookAbility to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groupsAbility to travel up to 20% with occasional overnight staysEducation and Experience

Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Architecture, or equivalent, requiredArchitecture License required7 years of experience minimum required, 8 preferred, in the building design consulting industryPhysical Requirements
