Although this is not an approved position, we are accepting applications for this future and anticipated need.As an IT Security Specialist III at Cherokee Nation Systems Solutions (CNSS) in Charleston, SC, you will play a critical role in analyzing information security systems and applications to recommend and develop security measures. You will leverage your expertise to protect information against unauthorized modification or loss.Compensation & Benefits:Estimated Starting Salary Range for
IT Security Specialist IIIPay commensurate with experience.Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided.Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.IT Security Specialist III Responsibilities Include:Analyze information security systems and applications to identify vulnerabilities and risks.Recommend and develop security measures to protect information assets against unauthorized access, modification, or loss.Implement and maintain security controls, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.Monitor and respond to security incidents, conducting investigations and implementing remediation actions as necessary.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security requirements into system design and development processes.Stay informed about emerging threats and security technologies, providing recommendations for improving the organization's security posture.Conduct security assessments and audits to evaluate the effectiveness of existing security controls and identify areas for improvement.Provide guidance and support to junior staff members, assisting with skill development and knowledge transfer.Prepare and present reports and updates on information security status and activities to stakeholders and senior management.Participate in incident response exercises and security awareness training initiatives.Perform other job-related duties as assigned.IT Security Specialist III Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in information technology, computer science, or a related field is required.Minimum of 6 years of experience in information security, preferably in a federal agency setting.Strong understanding of information security principles, practices, and technologies.Experience with security assessment tools and techniques, including vulnerability scanning and penetration testing.Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards, such as NIST, FISMA, and HIPAA.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex security issues and develop effective solutions.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.Previous experience leading or directing the work of others is desirable.Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CEH are preferred.Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.Company Information:Cherokee Nation System Solutions (CNSS)
