Position Overview
The Healthcare Technologies team builds solutions that enable healthcare-specific platform capabilities for on-premise and cloud offerings. This development role in the Database Platforms department will contribute to the InterSystems IRIS for Health and InterSystems Health Connect products.
The Healthcare Technologies team needs an experienced full-stack developer who can architect and maintain a suite of Angular applications for users of the FHIR server and FHIR repository including interface engineers, data analysts, and system administrators. These applications are a critical part of our strategy to compete in the modern healthcare industry.

A developer in this role is expected to:
Define requirements from abstract needs created by product management.Lead architectural decision-making related to the user interface and the backend.Design technical solutions in collaboration with a small team of developers and UX designers.Implement product changes and automated tests and be accountable for the quality of their code.Follow the team’s development workflow including use of source control, code reviews, and clear documentation.Estimate project scope, report on progress, and proactively manage expectations on delivery timelines.Demonstrate deep knowledge of FHIR technologies and establish themselves as a subject matter expert and a point of contact for other teams.Mentor junior developers.Regularly communicate with the Data Platforms Developer Tools team and with fellow contributors to the UI framework shared across the company.Occasionally communicate with the release engineering team responsible for continuous integration infrastructure and product packaging and distribution.The technology stack includes Angular, TypeScript, ObjectScript, and InterSystems IRIS.Position Requirements
College degree in a technical field like computer engineering or computer science.5+ years of experience with Angular or other web frameworks.5+ years of experience with Python, Java, or a similar programming language.Experience developing secure REST APIs.Motivated to contribute to the platform’s industry-leading position.Motivated to learn and adopt new tools and technologies, especially in the cloud.Able to communicate strategy, designs, and trade-offs to management and peers.Self-driven and confident in their skills.Motivated by excellence and constant improvement.Preferred Qualifications
