Job OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled Software Developer in Test (SDET) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in test automation, with a particular focus on UI conversion and API testability. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated test scripts, primarily using Cypress or Playwright, ensuring the robustness of our applications through both UI and API test coverage. This role will require a blend of programming and testing expertise, ensuring our systems meet the highest quality standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesTest Automation: Develop, maintain, and execute automated test suites for web applications using Cypress or Playwright frameworks.UI Testing: Focus on automating tests for UI conversion and rendering to ensure user interfaces are consistent and functioning across various browsers and devices.API Test Development: Design and implement tests for API validation, ensuring accurate data flow and service functionality.CI/CD Integration: Integrate automated test suites into continuous integration/continuous delivery pipelines for seamless deployment.Collaborative Development: Work closely with software engineers and product teams to identify testing needs early in the development lifecycle.Bug Tracking & Reporting: Identify, document, and track bugs, working alongside the development team to resolve issues in a timely manner.Performance Testing: Contribute to performance and load testing initiatives to ensure that applications can handle large volumes of users and data.Code Reviews: Participate in code reviews, providing feedback on testability and automation aspects.Tooling & Best Practices: Help improve test automation frameworks, tools, and processes by researching and integrating industry best practices.
QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.3+ years of experience in test automation, with expertise in Cypress, Selenium, or similar testing frameworks.Proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, etc.Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and experience in API test automation.Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control (e.g., Git), and testing within DevOps environments.Familiarity with UI testing challenges, cross-browser testing, and responsive design.Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, including unit, integration, regression, and performance testing.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
Preferred SkillsExperience with test management tools such as JIRA, Azure Test Plans, or similar.Knowledge of cloud platforms and environments like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.Experience with load testing tools like Artillery or JMeter.Familiarity with BDD/TDD methodologies and tools like Cucumber or Gherkin.Experience working in Agile development teams.
