The Fastly Security Products Engineering team develops and operates next generation security capabilities in the Fastly and Signal Sciences platforms. We’re looking for a software engineer to develop and maintain our bot management products. You’ll work closely with other software engineers, product managers, and data scientists to implement new features and address real-world bot attacks. And help ensure our security products and systems are robust, scalable, and secure along the way.
The software you develop will power existing and future bot management and anti-fraud products at Fastly. As a Security Product Software Engineer, you will help us shape patterns, standards, and methodologies for the engineering team. What You'll Do
Write clean, modular, test-driven code to implement features that enables customers to manage botsDevelop and improve software development and analytic infrastructure used for research, development, testing and deployment of production systemsCollaborate with software engineers, security operations staff, and data scientists to develop solutions to bot management problemsContribute to code reviews, documentation and other team processesTroubleshoot and debug issues with production code; participate in on-call rotationCollaborate with your teammates through code, design reviews and other engineering activities
What We're Looking For
You have a minimum of 1 year of hands-on production experience in back end development with Go, Rust, or C (Go/Rust preferred)You have a minimum of 1 year of experience with commercial cloud technology (GCP, AWS) and delivering software in an IaaC culture (CI, test automation; Terraform experience preferred)Experience developing tests and test automationGood understanding of service-oriented architectures, microservices, and design patterns
We'll be super impressed if you have experience in any of these:
Exposure to analysis and problem solving on large-scale distributed systemsExperience with CDNs, proxies, or edge computing technology
Work Hours: This position will require you to be available during core business hours.

Fastly currently embraces a largely hybrid model for most roles which allows employees flexibility to split their time between the office and home.
This position may require travel as required by your role or requested by your manager.
Salary
The estimated salary range for this position is $123,330 to $154,170.
Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and location.
This role may be eligible to participate in Fastly’s equity and discretionary bonus programs.
