You will be a key member of the Vestmark Labs team responsible for the development of innovative web-based applications and services. Vestmark Labs operates in a hybrid work model based out of One Kendall Square, Cambridge MA or Wakefield, MA.Responsibilities:Design, develop and maintain highly scalable cloud native, multi-tenant applications using Go, Python, and SQL.Design, develop and maintain efficient data streaming and processing pipelines using Spark, Kafka and HTAP database technology.Embrace a cloud-first approach in architecture and design, harnessing best practices within the AWS ecosystem.Design and build modular and maintainable systems using microservices architecture.Build and maintain features to match our expanding scale and performance requirements.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deliver new products, features, and enhancements.Mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.Contribute to the growth and development of our core values: We Before Me, Positive Energy, Knowledge Explorer, and Own It.Job Qualifications:B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.5+ years of hands-on experience developing and testing scalable applications using Go, Python, and SQL in a mission critical environment.Extensive experience optimizing data streaming, processing and storage utilizing tools such as Amazon EMR, Apache Kafka, Apache Spark, Amazon S3, and Data Lakehouse technologies.Hands-on experience developing relational database schemas using databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, and SQL Server.Extensive experience with container technologies such as Docker and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes or Amazon ECS.Experience working backwards from project target to create a plan consisting of milestones and timelines.Strong algorithmic and object-oriented design skills.Experience with microservices architecture and cloud-first design principles.Proven problem-solving and analytical skills in a fast-paced agile environment.Excellent communication skills capable of effectively conveying technical ideas.Preferred Qualifications:Experience building web services/API using REST.Experience with DevOps, CI/CD practices.Experience with clustered application deployment.Experience with networking concepts such as VPC, Load Balancing, DNS and HTTP protocols.Knowledge of JavaScript and TypeScript.Knowledge of React or other JavaScript frameworks/libraries.Vestmark is an equal opportunity employer.
