Performs a variety of activities associated with overseeing potential and active medical malpractice claims and other legal requests in the Medical Center. Serves as the primary point of contact to facilitate interactions between external stakeholders and medical center employees.Mitigates risk through proactive assessment and intervention.Investigates significant events, claims, and lawsuits presented against Medical Center staff, Graduate Medical Education trainees, and Medical Center operations for liability, causation, and damages.Serves as the primary Medical Center contact for potential and active medical malpractice cases.Responds to external requests.Documents and maintains records of potential, current, and past medical malpractice activity.Position Compensation Range: $24.24 - $38.78 HourlyMINIMUM REQUIREMENTSEducation: Bachelor's degreeExperience: 2 years of hospital experience which includes extensive electronic medical record use and ability to understand and document clinical events.Licensure: NonePHYSICAL DEMANDSThis is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers.
