Position OverviewAutodesk is looking for a Software Engineer to join our team focused on developing Factory Design and Simulation solutions. You will be fully remote on a team based in Orem, UT, USA, reporting to a Senior Manager of Software Development.
FlexSim was recently acquired by Autodesk. You will work with a team that is transitioning from the culture and speed of a small business to the challenges and opportunities of a large enterprise.
FlexSim is a discrete-event simulation software application. Autodesk Fusion is an ecosystem of client and server components, SDK, and Cloud services with a variety of integrations with world leading products such as AutoCAD, Inventor, and Revit. We are working on integrating the FlexSim desktop application with these products. Our future work will also include development and integration of factory simulation features into a web-based Autodesk Fusion client.
Responsibilities
Design, implement, test, and maintain the application.
Produce clean, secure, maintainable, and well-documented code.
Create test cases and documentation for developed features.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on project goals and timelines.
Utilize debugging techniques to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.
Participate in code reviews to ensure new code conforms to standards.
Interact with customers to resolve technical issues and understand the user experience.
Produce solutions to loosely defined problems without detailed instructions or oversight.
Proactively seek support when you need help and assist others when they do.
Mentor junior engineers, fostering their professional growth and ensuring high-quality deliverables.
Understand, embrace, and promote Agile methodologies and principles within the team.
Minimum Qualifications
5+ years of industry experience building and delivering robust, performant, and maintainable commercial applications.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
Understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
Experience with multiple programming languages, such as C++, Python, and JavaScript.
Proficiency in quickly learning new programming languages and frameworks.
Solid understanding of event-driven architecture principles.
Experience using version control systems such as Git.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience developing Autodesk products or plugins.
Experience using Autodesk Product Design & Manufacturing Collection (PDMC) products, such as AutoCAD, Inventor, Fusion, or Factory Design Utilities.
Experience using similar products, such as SolidWorks or Onshape.
Experience with modern C++ features and best practices.
Experience building Progressive Web Applications.
Experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS services such as S3, OSS, and RDS.
Experience with database technologies (e.g., MySQL and MongoDB).
Experience with build and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.

Salary TransparencySalary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $110,300 and $190,300. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
