Senior Network Engineer

CoVantage Credit Union is looking to add an experienced Senior Network Engineer to our growing team! This person will be responsible for architecting, implementing, and maintaining the credit union wide area and local area networks (WAN/LAN) including routers, switches, firewall, proxy servers, DNS, and security appliances to ensure highly available and secure networking systems. This role will also be assisting with level 3 support as well as completing proactive monitoring, patches, research, and resolving network system errors.

Essential Job Functions
Maintains an advanced knowledge of networking tools; Visio (Diagrams), Wireshark (Sniffer), packet capture tools as well as network management suites.
Maintains a current knowledge of network routing (EIGRP/OSPF/BGP) and switching protocols (STP, VTP, Ether channel) to be able to design and implement high availability and secure networking systems based on Cisco firewalls, routers and switches and Fortinet appliances.
Understands and can apply advanced features and functionality such as AAA, QoS, 802.1x, STP enhancements, and security functionality.
Manages design, configuration, and documentation of WAN/LAN network architecture and is the primary contact point for LAN/WAN diagrams (Visio) in conjunction with network technician and network engineer.
Ensures LAN/WAN and network stability and security including administration of next generation firewall, IDS/IPS appliance, network configuration and event monitoring.
Requirements
Qualified candidates will have:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent proven work experience. Cisco CCNP required, mid-level networking certifications helpful.
A minimum of 10 years’ relevant work experience.
Advanced knowledge of networking hardware and configurations (Fortinet, FTD firewall, Cisco and Fortinet Wireless LAN controller and Cisco hardware - switches and routers).
The ability to process complex information, analyze and solve complex technical problems.
The ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff in both written and verbal form.
The ability to organize and prioritize work and work accurately under pressure to meet the business needs of the credit union.
Ability to work irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
