LOCATION OF POSITION:Monroe One BOCES - 41 O'Connor Road, Fairport NY 14450;Instruction & Technology Services – 11 Linden Park
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT:12-Month Position, Full-Time
STARTING DATE: October 2024
SALARY RANGE: $24.00 - $30.50 per hour
*Actual Salary Is Dependent Upon Education, Experience and Contract.
DUTIES:
Act as a subject matter expert in Accounting practices and assist with Payroll and/or Human Resource areas by supporting school district business office staff in the effective use of Financial/HR applications.
Act as a liaison between school district staff and application vendors in problem resolution, implementation of new modules and functionality, development of reports, and responding to customer enhancement requests as needed.
Support school district business office staff to plan and implement all processes, procedures, and systems necessary to maintain an accurate account of all accounting and employee personnel/payroll files and records required for Federal and State reporting.
Develop documentation and conduct individual and group training sessions in the use of software applications.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Regional Information Center.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Civil Service eligibility as aComputer Application Specialist: Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, plus EITHER:
(A) Two (2) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent work experience in developing or maintaining database applications on micro-computers; OR,
(B) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State recognized college or university with an Associate's degree in a Computer Science or an Information Technology related field, plus one (1) year paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience as described in (A) above; OR,
(C) An equivalent combination of education and training as described by the limits of (A) and (B) above.
Degree in a finance-related field (Finance, Accounting, Business Admin) or two (2) years of experience in Accounting/Financial aspects of a School Business Office or comparable environment is required
Knowledge of WinCap Finance Services software or similar Financial/HR system preferred.
Crystal Reports and/or strong Excel experience helpful.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to work with deadlines under pressure.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Excellent communication skills within a collaborative environment.
Demonstrate exemplar customer service, including excellent phone and interpersonal relationship skills.
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive material appropriately.
Physically able to perform essential functions of the position (with or without reasonable accommodation).
