Job Description - Systems Administrator - NISSC II (ADV0009NC)***Pending Contract Award***Our NORAD Operations GroupSelected by the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center’s Strategic Warning and Surveillance Systems Division for Operations, Maintenance, and Sustainment (OM&S) of critical mission systems for the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) Cheyenne Mountain Complex (NCMC), we support the Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II).Description of Duties:The
System Administrator
supports North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) on the Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II). The candidate will:Implement/maintain various technical systems and provide guidance, direction, and training to others in the group.Serve as a backup to the lead computer systems administrator.Build and/or debug complicated hardware and software to correct difficult problems using technically advanced problem-solving skills.Develop and implement system documentation and operating procedures. Identify and correct processing anomalies.Operate, monitor, identify, report, coordinate, and document abnormalities for Space Defense Operation Center (SPADOC)/Space Predictive Effects Analysis Results Reporting (SPEARR) systems, servers, clients, and peripheral devices following operating instructions.Receive training as a Space Program Analyst.Perform scheduled and unscheduled Initial Program loads (IPLs) and system failovers.Coordinate with system lead subject matter experts (SMEs), maintenance personnel, and System Center/Job Control on repair actions/status.Perform scheduled recovery and backup system tasks, create output products, and disseminate as requested.Respond to failures and anomalies and ensure facility security by utilizing established procedures.Assist in training of apprentice personnel, coordinate and schedule system upgrades, and maintenance.The successful candidate will:Know the difference between virtual machine and Remote Desktop.Be capable of supporting the CMSFS 24x7x365 environment independently as they may work alone.This position will be filled and work onsite in Colorado Springs, CO.Basic Requirements:Clearance: Top Secret with SCI eligibility.IAT Level II Certification (CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP).2 years of direct experience.3 years of work history.Experience with system administration of Microsoft Windows operating systems (OS) administration and associated hardware.Experience with Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) technologies.Desired Requirements:Have the VMware Certified Professional (VCP)/VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP) certificate.Experience with Cyber and Space Operations.Have basic experience with and system administration of Red Hat Enterprise or Linux environments.Experience with basic Windows System Administration or Space Defense Operations Center (SPADOC) or space situational analysis or space orbital analysis.This position is expected to pay
$95,000 - $105,000
annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.This position will be posted for a minimum of 3 days.
