Security Benefit is searching for an experienced Software Engineer I with proven experience to join our team. This position will work in our home office in Topeka, Kansas. SB associates are working in a hybrid environment with both remote and on-site work.

What Does the Job Look Like?
The Software Engineer will work with data integration across multiple systems on our Derivatives team. The position is responsible for participating in the design, coding, enhancements, testing, and operational support of data integration and workflow applications.
Assist with gathering business requirementsDevelop and document workflowsIdentify manual processes and propose solutions to automateOperational support - including resolution of incidents, service requests, planned support activities, and problem managementContribute to developing and testing application programs from business requirements and/or program specifications on time and according to requirementsComplete applications development by coordinating requirements, schedules, and activities;Contribute to team meetingsTroubleshoot development and production problems across multiple environments and operating platformsCreate technical designs and documentation as required by SDLCCommunicate, escalate, and/or resolve risks and issues related to assigned projects/initiativesCreate and maintain change management requests and follow the change management processContribute to the identification and/or delivery of related technical process improvementsCollaborate with our business partners and other technology professionals at all levels
Who Are You?
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems or related field preferredMinimum of 1 year of Software Engineering experience with data integration across multiple data sources/systems desiredBackground in object-oriented programming, JavaScript, ETL tools such as SSISFamiliar with SQL in a Relational Database Environment (Microsoft SQL preferred) including skills in Structured Query Language (SQL) programming language with ability to code complex SQLExperience with .NET/C# is preferredGeneral knowledge and experience in software analysis, development, engineering and support in a large/medium corporate settingStrong written and verbal communication skills along with presentation skillsAble to handle multiple tasks of highly varied nature in a timely mannerKnowledge of financial services industry preferred
