Software Engineer - Full Stack Application Developer - AVPWho We Are Looking ForWe're looking for top technical talent to join our team and deliver creative technology solutions for our Corporate Action applications. The candidate should have a Bachelor's Degree or higher and 8+ years of application development experience overall. This is an onsite position in our Quincy Location.We believe that collaboration drives innovation, and our developers are key to our business success.Creative thinkers who are motivated by challenging problemsDesire to work within a collaborative, team-driven environmentTechnological curiosity and commitment to continuous learning and developmentAs a Full Stack Application Software Engineer - (AVP) you will:Write application UI and backend codeDevelop reusable componentsConsult with technical team, SQA, and business analysts on aspects of functional specificationsIdentify and resolve application issues and bugsProduce quality code within a reasonable timelineParticipate in design review and code reviewProvide assessments of task duration, complexity, progress, and risk to team leadsSoftware configuration and build managementDesign, develop and implement Unit and Scenario testing for new functionality under developmentProvide system documentationKey experiences required for the profile are:Full Stack Application Development using Java, JEE, JavaScript frameworks (NodeJS/ReactJS/Angular) with high scalability projects involving cloud-based infrastructure design and implementationWorking knowledge of object-oriented design and development skillsGood understanding of Web Services protocols such as REST and API design for extensibility and portabilityExperience debugging distributed systems with high data loadsSolid understanding of the Software as a Service (SaaS) model in the online environmentExperience with Scrum/Agile development methodologiesJava/JEE, Spring, Spring microservices, JSON, XML, REST, Distributed System, RDBMS, MVC frameworks, Design Patterns, JavaScriptExperience writing SQL queries/Stored Procedures for Oracle SQL or any other Relational DatabaseExperience with Microservices - API/Event Driven Architecture/DevelopmentUnderstanding of CI/CD pipelines and toolsetsThese skills will help you succeed in this role:Advanced development experience with REACT JavaScriptAdvanced development experience in JAVAAdvanced experience with Oracle DB and SQLExperience in Java, J2EE, Servlet, and JDBCExperience with API developmentExperience with Spring Framework and REST Web ServicesExperience with code repositories and code management (Git, SVN, etc.)Strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbalStrong ability to review and understand complex concepts at a detailed levelAbility to multi-task and to take the initiative when neededAbility to work independently as well as within a team settingAbility to foster and maintain strong relationships with all partners in the Software Development Lifecycle such as business and quality assuranceAdditional RequirementsThe following are considered a plus, but are not required:Experience with AgileExperience with MQExperience with SnowflakeCloud-based development experienceExperience in the Financial Asset Custody Services IndustryEducation & Preferred QualificationsBachelor's degreeThe ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented individual and have a minimum of 8 years of professional software experience.Why this role is important to usOur technology function, Global Technology Services (GTS), is vital to State Street and is the key enabler for our business to deliver data and insights to our clients.
