Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer for an onsite role in Buffalo, New York, with a combined minimum of 8 years of experience in systems design, management, or architecture. The ideal candidate will possess expert-level skills in DevOps, automated code deployments, and infrastructure design, with a strong background in providing technical solutions, documentation, and leadership for complex technical projects in both on-premises and cloud environments. This role requires at least five years of experience leading DevOps efforts, with hands-on expertise in automated code deployments, domain tools, and CI/CD pipelines. The candidate must have demonstrated skills in writing Ansible playbooks, building pipelines, and deploying highly available applications across various environments. Experience with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform and Ansible, along with container orchestration and Source Control Management Systems, is essential.
ResponsibilitiesLead the design, development, and execution of technical solutions in collaboration with Technology management, customers, and support teams.Handle infrastructure architecture and design, technology standards creation, research and development of systems, and thorough analysis of user requirements.Conduct unit tests, system integration, and user acceptance testing while ensuring adherence to best practices.Independently interact with business partners and stakeholders to gather requirements, estimate project effort, and manage vendor interactions.Mentor and coach less experienced engineers, provide technical guidance, and review documentation.Continuously expand knowledge of financial services trends and maintain expertise in supporting application environments.Ensure compliance with risk and regulatory standards, promote diversity, and uphold internal control standards.
QualificationsCombined minimum of 8 years of higher education and/or work experience in systems design, management, or architecture.At least 5 years leading DevOps efforts with expert skills in automated code deployments.Solid knowledge of DevOps tools, CI/CD pipelines, Secrets Management, and Container Registries.Experience deploying highly available applications in both on-premises environments and cloud platforms.Demonstrated skills in writing Ansible playbooks for automation and building pipelines.Experience with infrastructure as code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).Proficient with build, test, and deployment tools.Experience working with Source Control Management Systems.Experience with containerization and container orchestration.
Preferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.Advanced experience in infrastructure design, data management, and complex system development.Experience with project estimation, budgeting, and facilitating requirements gathering from diverse stakeholders.
