Position Description
This is a fully benefited, full-time Harvard University position that has been funded through December 31, 2025. There is the possibility of renewal, contingent on funding, university priorities and satisfactory job performance.

The Administrative Data Management and Reporting Ecosystem (ADMIRE) project is designed to create a comprehensive data strategy that enables the institution to leverage administrative data to inform decisions, make predictions, and otherwise understand our operations. The demand for high-quality, normalized, and interconnected data has continued to increase, with the emergence of generative artificial intelligence putting a spotlight on the challenges of data quality and data governance. This project prioritizes the foundational technology and related services that will enable such initiatives to move forward easily in the future. The ADMIRE project will enable us to leverage the full value of our digital assets for an enterprise-wide approach to data governance, create a modern data ecosystem, and incorporate best practices into our data management capabilities.
The key success factor for the project is to be able to build robust data ingestion pipelines from the source systems (using GoldenGate) and SaaS systems (using API). The project will also migrate the Informatica PowerCenter workflows and mappings to Informatica Cloud (IDMC). We are going to significantly re-architect our existing code for which we need a mid-level, savvy, experienced data integration engineer. This is a great opportunity to modernize and build a data ecosystem for Harvard University.
Principal Duties include:
Play a lead role in managing a practice for university-wide replication solution.
Design;
and develop scalable data replication pipelines utilizing continuous or batch processing frameworks (e.g., Oracle GoldenGate, Informatica Mass Ingestion, API, Streaming).
Design, develop, test and deploy complex ETL processes
Be able to provide long-term roadmaps for data ingestion and engineering space.
Work closely with source system (ERP) staff to ensure integrity of data in replication.
Solid experience in Informatica ETL tool, scripting and SQL skills.
Ensure efficiency, reliability and scalability of ETL workflows for large datasets.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data integration and ETL workflows.
Implement and adhere to best practices for data quality and consistency.
Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and performance testing for ETL processes.
Perform on-call duty on a roster.
Basic Qualifications
Minimum of five years’ post-secondary education or relevant work experience.
Additional Qualifications and Skills
Familiarity with
modern data warehouses.
Informatica Cloud – IDMC products.
Oracle OCI and GoldenGate technologies.
Oracle ODI knowledge is a plus.
Certificates and Licenses
Completion of Harvard IT Academy specified foundational courses (or external equivalent) preferred.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting.

While this position is Hybrid, travel to campus may be necessary based on business needs and the nature of work. All remote work must be performed within one of the Harvard Registered Payroll States, which currently includes Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Virginia, Washington, and California (CA for exempt positions only).
