Summary

WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU

The role of DevOps Engineer is to modernize the infrastructure and software delivery pipelines, empowering organizational engineers to run the software they create, and enabling Operations to ensure proactive reduction in production service issues both internal and externally facing, with a focus on Linux based infrastructure and Database technologies.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Administer and support both on-prem and cloud-based environmentsExecute code-based CI/CD deployment plans for new and existing infrastructure based on standards and best-practices providedEnsure ease of automation and scalability in all Git-based deploymentsEnsure replication, load-balancing, obfuscation, and back-up/restore operations are performing as expectedTroubleshoot and provide feedback on complex issues on all levels of the stackManage MySQL databases servicing both internal and externally facing applicationsDevelop repeatable deployment, back-up and replication processesMonitor database health with ability to independently troubleshoot configuration and performance issuesDevelop disaster high availability and disaster recovery proceduresManage users and permissions with goal of providing necessary access while operating under best-practices (e.g., granting least privilege)Coordinate patching, upgrade and maintenance schedulesInitiate and coordinate data obfuscation when dealing with PIIWork with external vendors and league partners to ensure all deliverables are being metDevelop monitoring solutions that give greater visibility into performance and reliability of cloud and on-prem environmentsCommunicate regularly with NetworkOps and InfoSec groups and integrate their requirements in all environments build plansContribute to overall DevOps team objectives and enthusiastically assist other members when neededCuriosity and willingness to bring new ideas and improvements to the team to help drive the infrastructure vision

Qualifications

Knowledge Areas/Experience

Required

5+ years of experience3+ years of DevOps experienceStrong background in virtual and cloud infrastructure platforms, such as VMWare and AWSExperience with configuration and content tools such as Ansible and PuppetBackground in infrastructure and application logging/monitoring with tools such as Devo, Datadog, CheckMK and Prometheus/GrafanaPrevious experience creating monitoring checks and alerting mechanisms for internal and external/public resourcesCDN experience (CloudFlare, Akamai, etc.)

Preferred

Strong knowledge of least-privilege practices for database access/user managementStrong understanding of Database back-up and replication strategiesAbility to implement database-specific performance monitoringKubernetes, ArgoCD, Helm background a plusTerraform experienceMySQL/RDB management

Required Skills

SALARY RANGE:

$140-175K

Actual base pay for a successful candidate will be determined based on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to: experience/training, market demands, and geographic location.
