Job Overview Responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the IT department, IT staff, requisitions, and all aspects of IT projects. The Manager of Information Technology is responsible for the technical and administrative management of Gulfstream Park's technologies computer environment, leading a team of technicians in the maintenance and support of the local infrastructure, and desktop environments. This role works closely with corporate IT management in the development and administration of an overall strategy to support business operations within a complex technical infrastructure. Essential Duties and Responsibilities SUPERVISION and COLLABORATION Oversee a variety of I.T. technicians with varying skills and responsibilities. Ensure that requests for service and equipment via the Helpdesk queue are processed timely and accurately by the I.T. staff. Create work schedules for the I.T. team, manage their time off requests, performance reviews, and other personnel related items. Work with HR recruiter regarding recruiting for new team members. Consult with management to analyze operational needs and opportunities to streamline current functions through the use of systems enhancements, to determine scope and priorities of projects, and to discuss system capacities, projected growth and related equipment acquisitions. Collaborate with corporate I.T. team to develop, implement, and monitor management information systems policies and controls to ensure data integrity and security. Oversee the support to end users in the selection, procurement, usage, and maintenance of software programs and hardware. Collaborate with Gulfstream management and department supervisors to assure excellent and timely customer service by the I.T. team. Work with Gulfstream management team to develop improvements to meet the needs of the organization and create Capex to meet those needs. Collaborate with corporate I.T. team and Gulfstream Management team to develop, maintain, and test disaster recovery plans. TECHNICAL Oversee and manage the GSP IT desktop environment, with a focus on hardware and management and deployment of software, systems integration and application support. Provide hands-on work alongside the IT team to complete daily tasks. Maintain standard images for desktops and laptops using imaging software or similar tools, research alternatives and work with management team on enhancements, resolutions, disk and file encryption projects and initiatives. Manage deployment and inventory of end-user devices; oversee software distribution for desktops for both international and domestic offices; develop testing platforms and procedures in support of production releases. Review and test new software requests for installation, document integration and plan deployment. Lead and manage deployment of software, associated deployment tools and definitive software library. Manage the day-to-day operations of the desktop support staff; address escalations; coordinate with appropriate teams, departments and vendors. Act as senior level technical support for all issues escalated from Level 1 and Level 2, identifying, isolating and resolving escalated issues. STRATEGIC Recommend and assist in process enhancements, development of global hardware and software standards and service improvements. Provide budget, technical documentation, deliverables on projects to leadership as needed. Research, plan, install, configure, troubleshoot, maintain and upgrade various applications and software for end-user environments (example: local OS and VDI). Work with User Support and help desk services teams to maintain a high level of responsiveness and customer service. Partner with Information Security organization to ensure that Endpoint protection toolset is incorporated into end user computing environment. Ensure optimal user experience, user enablement, and customer success. Manage the day-to-day operations of the desktop support staff; address escalations; coordinate with appropriate teams, departments and vendors as appropriate. Required Skills 5 plus years of supervisory and technical experience required managing enterprise level end user computing environments Software Imaging, Packaging and Deployment, Group Policy Patch Management Windows Desktops; MS Office 365 Experienced with asset management tools and techniques Must possess proven analytical ability and high-level technical background Highly developed analysis and problem-solving skills Ability to effectively communicate information verbally and in writing and present information to individuals or groups Ability to be sensitive to cultural differences among individuals and groups of persons Ability to effectively supervise and coach and mentor personnel Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, conduct analysis and needs assessments and draw valid conclusions Must have a fundamental knowledge of cross platform environments, desktop/device related systems and software; Active Directory applications Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Bachelor's or graduate degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent experience and: MCSE and CCNA certification preferred 5 years of IT industry experience 2 years in and IT supervisory or management role. Excellent project and people management skills. Proven ability to serve as a leader for employees while fostering teamwork, employee morale, motivation, and open communication. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Must have an In-depth knowledge of federal/state laws and regulations pertaining to gaming, horseracing, and media utilization; or be willing to learn and study these topics immediately. Strong leadership skills and customer service orientation required. Strong computer skills to include effective working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products. Knowledge of data base management and support systems preferred. Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Supervisory responsibilities Oversees the I.T. team of 4-8 employees. Schedule and work location Work schedule may vary from Mon-Fri to Tues-Sat. Weekend and holiday work will be required when needed. Work location is primary at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Florida; however, travel to location in Boynton Beach, Florida will be required from time to time; Also travel to California may be necessary to assist with large events a few times per year. This position is on site and not eligible for any type of remote or work-from-home.
