ABOUT THE POSITIONCorporate GIS Lead - Technology

| HybridThe Corporate GIS Lead is responsible for establishing, guiding, directing and overseeing VHB's Corporate GIS program, including but not limited to, the development of a Corporate GIS strategy, managing, mentoring and advising the Regional GIS Leads, and providing standardized oversite of the GIS Services that VHB provides to our diverse client base.The Corporate GIS Lead will partner with the Regional GIS and Technology Leaders to expand the GIS services provided across the VHB footprint, provide a roadmap for strategic growth, monitor the GIS trends in the industry and support the advancement of additional business opportunities for GIS within all the appropriate VHB markets.The Corporate GIS Lead shall be seen as the GIS Services expert and shall continuously coordinate on the advancement of GIS Services throughout the footprint, working closely with the Regional GIS Leads while also providing advice on the internally facing GIS initiatives at VHB (GeoVHB, MDC, etc).ResponsibilitiesDrives growth and directs execution of the Corporate GIS program, working with Regional GIS and Technology Leaders, Corporate Market Leaders, Regional Managers, and Service Leaders to bring the best GIS technology to client challenges ("value engineering with technology").

Provides project executive oversight on key Corporate and Regional GIS-related projects to help ensure clear scoping and financially viable deliverables in the short and long term.In collaboration with the Regional GIS and Technology Leads identifies, develops, recruits and mentors GIS leaders and practitioners. The Corporate GIS Lead will coordinate with the Regions to ensure consistency of methods, project approach, staff development, and staff sharing, as applicable.Understands the latest trends in GIS technology. Partners with the Regional GIS and Technology Lead and Market Leaders to educate and position for the advancement of GIS related services.Supports Corporate and Regional strategic initiatives and provides advice to Corporate and Regional leadership on the integration of GIS technology at VHB. Develops a Corporate Vision for VHB and works with Technology Management and the Regional GIS Leads to achieve a strategic position in the GIS market.Provides technical knowledge and overall management of Corporate GIS Projects and strategic Regional GIS-specific or influenced projects.Supports Corporate, external visibility related to GIS related services including the representation of VHB at conferences, seminars, and industry events through active participation and by delivering technical presentations.Serves as Lead Project Director/Manager on major GIS strategic pursuits. Partners with the Regional GIS Leads on go/no-go decisions related to complex GIS technology pursuits and supports their development.In collaboration with the Technology Leadership Team, advises on GIS-specific training programs that are needed to support VHB's use of GIS technology.Advises on the potential internal uses of GIS at VHB by leveraging the experience gained from GIS Services engagements and applying them to the work that non-GIS professionals perform at VHB.Advises on improvements that could be made to the development, implementation and maintenance of VHB's internal Geospatial Systems (GeoVHB and MDC) and promotes the use of these systems across the VHB footprint.Skills and AttributesRobust skill in the use of GIS software, particularly the Esri ArcGIS platform.Ability to oversee the design, development and maintenance of GIS-based projects for VHB's diverse client base.Extensive skill in applying GIS technology to solve difficult analytical problems.Comprehensive understanding of a broad range of geospatial technologies with a depth of skill and experience in one or more of the specific markets that VHB provides services to.Ability to oversee large data integration efforts between various technology platforms.General understanding of each of the services VHB delivers to clients.Strong leadership skills with ability to coordinate subject matter experts in areas beyond GIS.Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.Team oriented with ability to perform multiple tasks independently in a timely manner and collaborate effectively and positively with all levels of the organization, including Market/Service Leaders within the office, region, and throughout VHB.Self-motivated, highly organized, and detail oriented.Qualifications10-15 years of technology-based project management experience, with extensive utilization and expertise of GIS technology, within architecture/engineering/construction consulting industry, required3-5 years of supervisory experience of GIS teams and projects, utilizing Esri ArcGIS platform, requiredBachelor's degree in Computer Science, GIS, Engineering, Geography, Environmental Studies or related field requiredGISP certification requiredWe are VHB!
