Job Description

Whole Foods is hiring a new and exciting role as a Kitchen Project Manager. In this role you will be responsible for defining and managing the value proposition, work plans, resources, and timeline/budget needs for projects related to culinary kitchens within Whole Foods. You will be organizing and driving resources to achieve project deadlines and objectives within scope, budget, and overall project plan directions.Successful candidates will have managed projects for menu creation, kitchen rollouts, food programs, new restaurant openings, etc., but also have a general passion for food. After all, we are all about food here at Whole Foods Market.Located in Austin, TX, you will be required to work onsite for this position in Austin. Candidates that are not living in Austin will be required to relocate to Austin.Responsibilities:Provides Project Management support for assigned segments of the organization.Engages with functional representatives to understand business requirements including ‘definition of done’, documentation expectations, resource limitations, risks, and challenges.Builds and maintains project roadmaps, including milestones, deliverables, and overall timelines.Tracks and manages progress of tasks, identifying and communicating issues/risks to management; ensures changes are implemented and documented as required.Engages with Team Members and leadership to ensure a mutual and shared understanding of project expectations.Ensures data-driven, customer-focused decision-making.Partners with third parties and teams across WFM to ensure alignment, collaboration, and widespread sharing of lessons learned.Networks with other business groups to identify gaps, synergies, suggest process and communication improvements.Monitors metrics. Reports on progress, issues, and status.Ensures consistency and adherence to WFM’s standards, processes, and policies.Skills:Understands WFM’s project management methodologies and requirements.Ability to plan, estimate, organize, and monitor projects.Capable of keeping projects on track financially, creatively, and in accordance with stakeholder deadlines.Working knowledge of project management software, such as SharePoint, MS Project, and Basecamp.Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, and listening.With guidance, responds to questions and presents information to internal and external clients in one-on-one settings.Tailors communication approach to specific situations and audiences.Supports the team and cross-functional projects within defined area of responsibility.Impacts the quality of own work and that of the team.Works as a fully competent Team Member.Maintains positive working relationships with supported functional stakeholders.Applies basic research, information gathering, and analytical skills to:Select appropriate alternatives from defined options,Collect required documentation and verify conformance with standards,Assess accuracy of detailed information.Handles detailed, structured problems; identifying roadblocks to task completion.Uses existing procedures to resolve standard problems.Understands the strategy, goals, and objectives of the company, business unit, and/or project.Identifies alignment/misalignment of the team’s project goals with larger organizational strategy, goals, and objectives.Understands the WFM product mix, supply base, and retail operations.Education & Experience:BA/BS degree and 2-4 years’ relevant experience OR equivalent education and relevant experience.At Whole Foods Market, we provide a fair and equal employment opportunity for all Team Members and candidates regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, gender, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, age, marital status, disability, or any other legally protected characteristic.
