Position Description:

The BigFix Engineer is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the BigFix environment. This includes fixlet creation, patch deployment, software deployment, reporting, application health, and the overall application support. Responsible for installation, implementation, customization, and performance tuning of BigFix components and servers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Creating fixlet tasks to accommodate Software Distribution via BigFix.

Create web reports filters and schedule reports.

Setup and administrate BigFix OS Deployment.

Configure & solve any issues related to patching & compliance related activities.

Ensures the smooth operation of Operational Technologies Tools for the business related to system stability and compliance.

Manage crisis situations, which may involve security violations or complex technical hardware or software problems.

Perform regular system auditing tasks including daily log monitoring, regular system patch reviews, and system alert message reviews.

Create and regularly update the monitoring systems for production systems to ensure that appropriate personnel receive early warnings of potential issues.

Effectively communicate relevant system related information to the information technology team and executives.

Respond to escalated help desk issues that may involve complicated technical troubleshooting.

Architect, implement, document, and maintain all technology and procedures to comply with the security requirements of a financial transaction processor (PCI).

Requirements:

Minimum 5-8 years of relevant experience in BigFix L2/L3 Support and implementation is required.

Ability to patch/release management and ensure all packages are deployed efficiently and to ensure appropriate resolution of BigFix and general patching issues.

Experience in developing Relevance queries & Action script in BigFix.

Proficient in understanding technical problems and their impacts to the business.

Expertise in resolving BESRelay & BESClient issues.

The ability to branch out into other applications within the Operational Technologies team scope.

Ability to work both independently as well as collaboratively, achieving results within established timeframes with minimal supervision.

Strong understanding and troubleshooting of server, workstation and network infrastructure and communication.

Ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments supporting business as usual, user request as well as special projects.

Ability to effectively communicate and display a professional, mature attitude in dealing with internal customers, management, and personnel across the organization.

Active HCL BigFix Platform 10/11 Certification or ability to obtain within the first 6 months.

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated ability to effectively use Microsoft 365 Copilot to enhance productivity in daily BigFix engineering tasks, including drafting patch deployment documentation, generating compliance reports, summarizing system health meetings, and preparing operational presentations.

Skilled in guiding team members to leverage Microsoft 365 Copilot tools to improve collaboration, streamline patch management workflows, and optimize system automation and remediation processes.

Compensation and Benefits

The projected compensation range for this position is $115,000 to $155,000 per year benchmarked in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. The target salary for this role is $135,000. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Salary at LCG is determined by various factors, including but not limited to role, location, the combination of education/training, knowledge, skills, competencies, certifications, and work experience.
