Position Overview:
The Senior Android Engineer on our newly created team will work on the Jetpack implementation of Henry's design system for a customer portal, alongside the integration of architectural patterns specifically for Android. This includes making decisions regarding the use of internal Google libraries as well as external third-party libraries for Android. Beyond this, you will develop a feature flag and testing system for the Android platform to ensure smooth functionality and better control of features.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Work closely with members from the Product, Design, Data Science, and Marketing teamsAssist in driving the team's testing strategy, observability into success metrics, and codebase best practicesTriage and prioritize platform issues for incorporation into the roadmapChampion the strategic direction and architectural vision of the Android platform, addressing technical challenges, driving initiatives for complex integrations, and large-scale project executionWork with cross-functional teams, ensuring seamless collaboration between engineering, product, design, and other stakeholdersManage the Android platform backlog, making strategic decisions on issue triage, prioritization, and grooming to balance immediate product goals with long-term platform healthSet the standard for code reviews and engineering processesLead Android prototyping for groundbreaking new HenryMeds features
You will likely have:
Mastery of Android frameworks (e.g. Jetpack Compose)Hands-on experience with automated testing frameworks like Espresso and a commitment to writing tests for all code changes.A solid CS fundamentals backgroundProficiency in refactoring code with architectural patterns like MVVMA track record of technical leadership and exceptional problem-solving skillsA track record of leading technical teams through positive changeExperience successfully advocating architecture improvements to multidisciplinary stakeholdersExperience with reactive programming frameworks like Combine
You may have:
