What is the role and where can you add value?

The Business Systems Analyst (BSA) will be a key liaison between business and technology teams. Working in close collaboration with the Director of Architecture and Digital Delivery, this individual will become thoroughly familiar with all aspects of our business and bring forth continuous improvement ideas to further our processes/practices and use of technology in support of the overall corporate objectives. This individual will assist in the creation of procedures for new opportunities, business analysis, testing, support, business continuity and maintain a core level of customer satisfaction including the customers, IT, and the employee end-users.

The individual in this role will have a crucial role in the progress of the company’s digital roadmap and will perform hands-on business systems analysis (BSA) work. They are an excellent and persuasive communicator, capable of working with other key business and technology functions. The BSA should be able to work through ambiguous situations, create business analysis artifacts and drive quality both individually as well as within the team, balancing it with schedule and budget.

Core Job Responsibilities

This is a crucial role in the digital and information technology organization at 2-10 HBW. The following duties and responsibilities are representative of the current expectations of the position. Other, different duties may be assigned from time to time, and the individual in this role must be thoroughly comfortable with changing responsibilities and priorities, depending on the needs of the company and the organization.

Conduct business and systems analysis to understand new and/or existing software systems and business needs. Develop user stories and diagrams that accurately and comprehensively address business requirements. Use industry and company knowledge to forecast/recommend future changes/needs. Develop plans that show the changes, the benefit of those changes, and the expected return/ROI.Project management skills with the ability to coordinate development, BI, QA, and implementation of new and upgraded software. This individual must possess a good understanding of the Agile Software Delivery Lifecycle (SDLC) processes and possess specific knowledge in the development of application test plans, roll out and implementation schedules.Help manage projects either by themselves or in collaboration with a designated project manager to maximally position projects for success, coordinating with development, QA, BI, PMO, systems engineering, and business teams. Maintain a thorough understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies, processes, and practices both individually and within the team.Support the development of test plans and test cases, implementation, roll out, and post-deployment activities and user adoption.Present user stories, diagrams, concepts, and demonstrate software applications/prototypes to a broad range of audiences including functional experts and senior management.Understand, analyze and refine enterprise data, business intelligence to devise reports that address such needs. Work closely with development and BI teams to bring such reports to fruition.Help with ways to measure process improvements, identifying key performance indicators (KPIs) for new and existing processes.

What skills and experience should you bring to this role?

Bachelor's degree and 3 years of experience or at least 7 years of practical experience in business systems analysis in the home warranty industry.Knowledge and experience of BPMN, UML.Knowledge and experience of UX.Knowledge and experience of APIs/API first design, Postman and System Integrations.Knowledge and experience around Data Strategy, Enterprise Data / BI, Enterprise Reporting.Experience and proficiency with SQL, Excel and Microsoft Office tools.Knowledge and experience in one or more of these platforms: Microsoft.NET, Web-based transactions are a plus.Knowledge and experience in one or more of these domains: Warranty / Customer Service / Sales.Ability to map and analyze the components of a business process. Excellent written and verbal communications skills are required. Interpersonal skills including motivational, cognitive, and relational, are essential. Problem solving and prioritization skills required.Ability to handle multiple priorities and manage team efforts in pursuit of complex projects.Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common business documents, journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common enquiries or complaints from customers, business teams, or regulatory agencies. Ability to write clearly and comprehensibly, conforming to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to a wide range of audiences.Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.Ability to work with and apply mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
