Progressive Technology Federal Systems, Inc. (PTFS) has been a leading enterprise Content Services Platform (eCSP) to Federal, Civilian and DoD agencies, and has an opening for a DevOps Engineer. The role of DevOps Engineer is a technical role that is focused on influencing, shaping, designing, implementing, and administering the Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery pipeline for a multi-tier java-based enterprise system. The incumbent will be working with Subject Matter Experts and have the opportunity to use state-of-the-art technologies that include Java, JavaScript, Groovy, Python, Solr, Splunk, SpringBoot Microservices, Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, Prometheus, Grafana, Node.js, Jenkins, Maven, Gitlab, NPM, Webpack, Nexus, Ansible, TDD, BDD, JMeter, Selenium, and other open-source frameworks.

Responsibilities

Influencing, shaping, designing, implementing, and administering the Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery pipeline for a multi-tier java-based enterprise system.Working with Subject Matter Experts.Using state-of-the-art technologies that include Java, JavaScript, Groovy, Python, Solr, Splunk, SpringBoot Microservices, Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, Prometheus, Grafana, Node.js, Jenkins, Maven, Gitlab, NPM, Webpack, Nexus, Ansible, TDD, BDD, JMeter, Selenium, and other open-source frameworks.Learning Azure cloud technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, and Microservices) quickly and adding it to the technology stack.Requirements

2+ years of experience leading the design and implementation of CI/CD pipeline using Jenkins for Java-based enterprise applications.4+ years of relevant experience and expertise in establishing DevOps practice and supporting application teams, using Linux, Jenkins, Maven, Nexus, Gitlab, Ansible, Groovy, and Bash Script.7+ years of relevant experience in developing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and enhancing Java-based applications and services.Strong experience administering Git version-control and scripting languages such as Groovy, Bash Script, Python, or Perl.Hands-on experience with test-driven development (TDD), integration testing, and end-to-end testing pipeline.Experience with agile (scrum and Kanban) SDLC.Experience authoring, editing, and maintaining design documentation, standard operating procedures, and configuration documentation.Communicate fluently in the English language, in writing and orally.Must be willing to learn Azure cloud technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, and Microservices) quickly and add it to the technology stack.BS/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or other related scientific and technical disciplines. MA/MS degree preferred.Location & other details: Washington, DC. This position has the opportunity for an alternate work schedule once eligible.
