Perform Nuclear Medicine procedures as ordered by attending physicianExhibits working knowledge of all Nuclear Medicine equipment and procedures as outlined in the Department protocol manual. Has completed required competencies for equipment and procedures in Nuclear Medicine.Corroborates clinical history with procedure ordered.Routinely questions the patient before procedure to obtain patient's history. Asks females of child bearing age if they may be pregnantExplains procedure completely to facilitate cooperation and alleviate patient anxietyDocuments all pertinent information, i.e., history, tech initials, exception codes, etc., appropriately.Prepares films for interpretation including pulling all previous films and providing completed work sheets.Always demonstrates an awareness of radiation safety procedures for self and patient; wears protective clothing when necessary; wears film badge at all times.Maintains room and work area in neat orderly fashion.Regularly checks equipment, accessories and supplies; keeps area stocked at all times.Assumes responsibility for portions of department quality improvement program as requested including QI suggestions, exception reporting, data gathering etc.Assists in other areas of the department as work load permitsIs available to work a rotating on-call schedule to ensure 24 hour coverage of the Nuclear Medicine department.Always obtains information necessary for successful completion of duties; regularly confers with radiologist; asks for assistance with patients who present difficultiesDemonstrates the ability to perform work in an accurate and timely manner and prioritizes procedures in periods of crisis and/or emergent situations. Strives to complete all scans as they are requested/scheduled during the shift.Performs all scans in an efficient and timely manner without compromising qualityCoordinates Nuclear Medicine schedule with other areas to prevent patient waiting; knows how to coordinate all procedures with other areas. Example: Ultrasound, Diagnostic, etc.Schedule Information

Is available to work a rotating on-call schedule to ensure 24 hour coverage of the Nuclear Medicine department.
