Job Description:

The Manager of Oncology and Specialty Services is responsible for overseeing and managing the Oncology and Specialty Services Programs. This role involves providing leadership, coordination, and oversight of the Nurse Navigators, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistant/s, Genetic Counsellors, Cancer Registry, and support staff.

The manager is also responsible for all Cancer Certification Programs including the Commission on Cancer Accreditation and Centers of

Excellence.

The Manager of Oncology and Specialty Services collaborates with various stakeholders to develop and implement effective oncology programs and initiatives that align with strategic goals.

This position reports to the Executive Director of Oncology and collaborates with other managers, staff, and an interdisciplinary team to standardize, update and/or maintain policies and procedures to ensure consistent compliance. Promotes compliance with internal standards and regulatory and accreditation requirements. This position will ensure adherence to John Muir Policies and procedures and will work in collaboration with leadership and staff to recommend adjustments and updates.

EducationBachelor’s degree in a Health or Human Services Related Field - RequiredMaster’s degree in a Health or Human Services Related field – Preferred

Certifications/ Licensures:RN Registered Nursing - California Board of Nursing - RequiredBLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association - Required

Experience:5 years of Leadership in a healthcare environment - Required5 years experience in an Oncology environment -PreferredSupervisory experience - RequiredProgram development experience - RequiredWorking knowledge of Oncology Commission on Cancer requirements/standards

Skills:Ability to work collaboratively with providers and an interdisciplinary medical and ancillary staffUnderstanding of Nurse Navigation and clinical pathwaysExperience Cancer Registry, pulling data, and tracking trendsExperience Genetic Counselors and incorporating them into the Cancer Clinic and Multi-disciplinary clinics.Ability to work in a service culture environment that is consistent with the John Muir BrandAbility to gather and analyze data to look for opportunities for improvement, training, coaching, and educationExcellent verbal and written communication skills both in-person (small or large group presentations), via e-mail, and by phone.Ability to prioritize and lead and manage multiple demands in an efficient mannerStrong interpersonal skills, able to deal effectively with diverse skill sets and personalities, and participate effectively as a team player.Knowledge of computer-based programsAbility to remain composed in any situationEvenings and weekends may be required.

Work Shift:

Exempt Salaried MGR (United States of America)

Pay Range:$169,496.00 - $254,245.00

SalaryOffer amounts are based on

demonstrated/relevant

experience and/or licensure.Note: Positions at JMH which are exempt (not eligible for overtime) under the level of Manager are listed as hourly for compensation purposes on this posting. The work shift will contain the word ‘exempt’ on it.
