Position: Plumber Journeyman Job Type: Full time/Direct Hire Location: Kuwait Clearance: Secret Clearance; US National Education: High school diploma / GED equivalent preferred Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Plumber Journeyman to join our team. As a Plumber Journeyman, you will be responsible for studying building plans and working drawings to determine work aids required and the sequence of installations. You will inspect structures to identify obstructions to prevent weakening resulting from pipe installation. Your duties will include locating and marking positions of pipes and passage holes for pipes in walls and floors, cutting openings to accommodate pipes and fittings, cutting and threading pipes, bending pipes to required angles, and assembling and installing valves, fittings, and pipes composed of various materials. Key Responsibilities: Study building plans and working drawings to determine work aids required and the sequence of installations. Inspect structures to ascertain obstructions to prevent weakening resulting from the installation of pipes. Locate and mark positions of pipes and passage holes for pipes in walls and floors using ruler, spirit level, and plumb bob. Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings using hand tools and power tools. Cut and thread pipe using pipe cutters, cutting torch, and pipe-threading machine. Bend pipe to required angles by using a pipe-bending machine or by placing pipe over a block and bending it by hand. Assemble and install valves, pipe fittings, and pipes composed of metals such as iron, steel, brass, and lead, as well as nonmetals such as glass, vitrified clay, and plastic, using hand and power tools. Join pipes using screws, bolts, fittings, solder, plastic solvent, and calk joints. Fill pipe system with water or air and read pressure gauges to determine whether the system is leaking. Install and repair plumbing fixtures such as sinks, commodes, bathtubs, water heaters, hot water tanks, garbage disposal units, dishwashers, and water softeners. Repair and maintain plumbing by replacing washers in leaky faucets, mending burst pipes, and opening clogged drains. Provide data to Automated Information Systems (AIS) as necessary. Perform duties in accordance with relevant regulations and guidelines. Requirements: Secret Clearance; Valid US Passport High school diploma / GED equivalent preferred Minimum of two (2) years related experience Journeyman - A skilled craft worker, having verifiable minimum experience and/or holds an accepted certification, license, and/or degree in a specific craft. Requires minimal supervision. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Note: This position requires adherence to relevant regulations including AR 750-1, AR 710-2, AR 735-5, AR 200-1, AR 58-1, AR 750-10, AR 750-6, DA Pam 750-8, TB MED 750-1, TM-10, TM-20, TM-30, manufacturer's instruction or operating manuals, current DLA Disposition Services (DLADS) disposal guidelines, AR 420-1, AR 190-11, and Department of Defense Uniformed Facilities Code (UFC).
