QPS Employment Group is hiring a Maintenance Technician for a company in Milwaukee, WI. This is a direct hire - full-time, non-exempt position. Primary duties are to perform preventative maintenance functions in the Maintenance Department and throughout the facility.

Maintenance Technician Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Detect and identify needed repairs

- Grease, vacuum, clean and wash all machines and machine parts to ensure safe and continual production

- Repair, remove, change or replace machine belts, lights, guards, filters, air and/or blower hoses as needed or requested

- Perform other related preventative maintenance functions to ensure all machines and equipment are kept running in a safe and efficient manner

- Work with the Maintenance Supervisor to create, follow, update and maintain on a timely basis a prioritized computerized preventative maintenance schedule and log to necessary functions are completed on a daily, semi-annual and annual basis

- Use the company vehicle to run company errands and pick up or deliver tools or dies as needed or requested

- Use manual lift equipment and forklift to move building furniture, machines, supplies, tools, etc.

- Perform basic building repair and maintenance

- Work one-on-one with Maintenance Technician 2 and 3 to assist them to inspect, troubleshoot and maintain production machines and equipment

- Visually inspect and listen to machines and equipment to locate causes of malfunctions and then notify the appropriate Maintenance personnel immediately

- Dismantle machines and equipment to gain access to problem areas

- Remove and replace worn or defective parts of drive mechanism or hydraulic system

- Start machines and equipment to test operation following repair

- Run and/or drop air lines where needed as directed by supervisor

- Perform other duties and/or functions as assigned or required to ensure companys success

- Open and close building on an as needed basis

- Respond to alarm events (both during work hours and off hours) on an as needed basis

Maintenance Technician Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred

- Associate degree (A.A.) in Maintenance or equivalent from a 2-year college or technical school preferred

- 1-3 years of related preventative maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment

- Previous forklift operation experience and certification preferred

- Previous electrical wiring, sheet metal, and duct work experience preferred

- Previous knowledge of carbon products

- Previous knowledge of set up experience

- Intermediate level in lockout/tag out procedures

- Knowledge of machine codes and manuals, specifications, and standards

- Install and repair building and facility systems

- Valid drivers license

- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals

- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)

- Write routine reports and correspondence

- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to understand and utilize technical information

- Read and understand sketches, shop orders, specifications and blueprints

- Read and utilize inspection and measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, protractors, ruler)
