Hospital in Central Nebraska needs a traveling med-surg RN with Ortho experience.Nurse will need to be experienced in general and Ortho.The position is for twelve hour nights and thirteen weeks in length.Job Requirements
RN's - Pass/Fail exam on Friday during orientation.OPEN BOOK exam on skills learned - they are given all necessary resources to pass.Must receive a 90% to pass or they will be terminated.Schedule Information
Shifts & Scheduling: 0630-1830, 1830-0630 / self scheduling with cyclic rotationWeekend Requirement: Every thirdHoliday Requirement: Rotate in with perm staffHow many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: 1 weekUnit Specific Information
# of Beds: 22- average daily census of 6Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:5-6Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Total knee replacements, total hip replacements, ankle replacements, total shoulders, spines- back and neckAre RNs required to titrate drips?: NoCommon titratable &/or set rate drips: Pain medications, antibiotics, bloodIs there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: YesAre there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties?: Yes, 1:13Are there tele/monitor techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: Tele boxes. Tele techs will read and interpret.Floating Requirements: MedSurg, rehab, or PCU taking MedSurg acuityAdditional Details
Must be flexible and willing to float and work when needed.Attributes that help a nurse be successful on this unit are being team oriented, helping teammates, being flexible, taking ownership within the department, and have a willingness to learnRadius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.
