AIS’ Supply Chain’s Manufacturing, Transportation, and Reverse Operations team is seeking a Technical Infrastructure Program Manager (TIPM) to help drive the hardware fulfillment and execution of AWS’ new availability and local zones. This role offers opportunity to work on cutting-edge new region launches and opportunity to solve/manage complex challenges tied to Global Cloud Computing.

As a TIPM, you will lead and drive complex hardware execution activities needed for AWS’ new availability and local zones. You will be responsible for driving the fulfillment of all the networking and service hardware needed for new availability and local zone sites by actively collaborating with other supply chain and onsite data center teams. These new sites will be of various build types and will be launching in various places around the world. You will work cross-functionally with all organizational levels and groups to drive the hardware fulfillment of these new sites. Some of your key stakeholders will be manufacturing, logistics, trade and compliance, procurement, region services, and engineering teams.

You must have excellent program management and critical thinking skills that help to properly identify and mitigate operational risk. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential as you will be responsible for communicating with and to a broad group of stakeholders at various levels of leadership. You must have a proven track record of successful operational execution & show the ability to deliver effectively in ambiguous situations with compressed timelines. You also must possess a working knowledge of data center technologies and supply chain management practices/processes.

Key job responsibilities

Manage the fulfillment and launch of multiple availability and local zones simultaneously by executing needed actions with cross functional stakeholders.

Communicate fulfillment status updates to various project stakeholders, including team members and leadership which will include synthesizing a multitude of issues and actions into a clear, concise and focused message.

Collaborate and engage team members from across all functions to enable new sites. Typical functions include Planning, Supply Chain, Logistics, Regional DC Teams, Trade, etc.

Understand and proactively flag risk for upcoming new availability and local zone launches to various internal stakeholders and leadership (ex. supply issues, tight manufacturing capacity, etc.)

Manage dependencies and the interfaces between launches and negotiate the trade-offs as needed with business stakeholders

Basic Qualifications

3+ years of technical infrastructure management experience

Knowledge of best practices and emerging technologies, related to infrastructure (i.e. network, data center, hardware, software)

Experience with varying scenarios of infrastructure builds

Preferred Qualifications

Varied supply chain experience and knowledge (ex. manufacturing, planning, logistics, order fulfillment, etc.)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $197,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
