Interim Emergency Department Manager/ED RNThe Interim Manager will assure safe staffing levels, fill in staffing the ED if there sick calls, other call offs. Under the direction of the CNO, will work on the administrative functions in the job description below.Manager ensures compliance with nursing carestandards established by commissions, federal, state, and local regulatoryagency standards and assures adherence to institutional objectives and policiespertaining to nursing and emergency care. Responsible for delivery of qualitypatient care that promotes the safety and well-being of patients. Plans, directs, coordinates and evaluates theoverall care of patients in the Emergency Room. Ensures patient care, safety standards, and documentation are carriedout according to Emergency Department and regulatory standard recommendedpractices and guidelines. Manager is responsible for Emergency Departmentpolicies and procedures, and staff education and competency development. Manager is accountable for employee and provider time and attendance, scheduling, andemployee and provider coaching and evaluation. Manager maintains opencommunication with all staff, providers, and families; works to promote safetyand quality improvement performance. Emergency Room Manager assures appropriate triage and patient flow tothe hospital, ancillaries and/or PACU/OR. Receives direction from Chief Nursing Officer, Administration.Gives direction to: Emergency Department Staff, Emergency Department Supervisorand Emergency Department providers in conjunction with Department Chair. Workscooperatively with: Patients, Families,Physicians, Providers, Departmental Leaders and Ancillary Staff.
