Overview:

The Market Chief Nurse Officer is responsible for the facilitation of nursing practice and the delivery of nursing care, treatment and services for their respective market. This nursing executive provides leadership and strategic direction for all care traditionally considered nursing care for their market. In partnership with the market CMO, leads patient care initiatives that support the provision of consistent clinical performance and practice standards across the market. Additionally, reviews quality performance with hospital leadership and facilitates the analysis of quality performance and prioritization improvement opportunities. Has primary responsibility for establishing and ensuring clinical patient care standards are achieved in a cost‐effective manner. Establishes nursing services consistent with the overall hospital values and goals to deliver the highest quality nursing services. Provides a practice environment and has the authority and responsibility for meeting the bottom lines of quality and financial performance for the areas of accountability.

The Market CNO is a Hospital CNO who also has additional responsibilities for the market. The Market CNO’s primary responsibilities are at the designated hospital in the market, and reports directly (“solid line”) to their Hospital President/Chief Executive Officer. The MCNO has secondary responsibilities at the market level with a dotted line to the Regional CNO and Market President. The Market CNO has a dyad relationship with Market Chief Medical Officer and together they are accountable to the Market President to provide support around clinical initiatives.

Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in Nursing; If Master’s Degree is not in nursing, then must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing with a 2nd Master's in a related field

Ten years of healthcare experience

Ten years of direct people leadership experience in progressive management roles

Ten years of clinical practice with sound knowledge of clinical nursing, management, and quality metrics

Three years of experience as an executive and CNO in a large, complex hospital or healthcare system

Registered Nurse (RN) active license in the state of employment or compact license

Excellent clinical and business management skills

Suitable for a complex tertiary level patient care setting

Breadth of knowledge of all areas of patient care

CommonSpirit’s Mountain Region is comprised of three markets spanning Colorado, Kansas and Utah. Our Greater Denver market includes St. Anthony and Ortho Colorado Hospitals in Lakewood, St. Anthony North Hospital in Westminster, Longmont United Hospital in Longmont, St. Elizabeth Hospital in Fort Morgan and St. Anthony Summit Hospital in Frisco.

The Market CNO for Greater Denver will serve at OrthoColorado Hospital, Colorado's only orthopedic specialty hospital designed specifically for the orthopedic patient. With such a specialized facility and team of experts, we have the utmost in experience and understanding of the needs of orthopedic patients – meaning better outcomes, increased patient satisfaction and a reduced risk of infection or complications.

Located on the St. Anthony Medical Campus, OrthoColorado Hospital is a joint venture between physician investors and CommonSpirit Mountain Region. Our state-of-the-art facility features a 48-bed inpatient unit, including six intermediate care beds and eight operating rooms. All members of our team from pre-operative care through recovery and our in-patient nurses are specialty trained in orthopedics. Our surgeons are renowned for their talent, knowledge and experience in their orthopedic specialties and sub-specialties. Having a team with a focused background and years of experience allow our employees to provide an unprecedented level of care, resulting in the best outcomes and experience for our patients.

Pay Range:

$222,144 - $311,022 / annually
