Physical Therapist Assistant (Inpatient and Outpatient)FLSA Status:

POSITION SUMMARY:
The position assists the Physical Therapists (PT) in carrying out treatment plans which have been established specifically for the patient. The PT will delegate and provide the appropriate supervision to the physical therapist assistant (PTA) as required by the education and training level of the assistant.
Starting Wage: $29.00/hour.
The posted wage is the current starting wage for this position. Actual wage is dependent on the applicant's relevant experience and qualifications for this position. The wage range for this position may be subject to change in the future depending on a variety of factors such as market conditions, business needs, legal developments, and other appropriate factors.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Certification/Licensure:Current State of Hawaii PTA licensure.Current BLS certificationCompletion of competencies and other job-related and REHAB requirements.Education:
Graduate from a Physical Therapist Assistant curriculum approved by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA); or if educated outside the United States or trained in the United States military, graduated from an education program determined to be substantially equivalent to Physical Therapist Assistant entry level education in the United States by a credentials evaluation organization approved by the American Physical Therapy Association; andPassed a national examination for Physical Therapist Assistants.On or before December 31, 2009, (1) Graduated from a 2-year college-level program approved by CAPTE.On or before December 31, 1997, was licensed or qualified as a Physical Therapist Assistant and has achieved a satisfactory grade on a proficiency examination conducted, approved, or sponsored by the U.S. Public Health Service.
Skills/Experience:
Ability to safely and effectively manage patients' mobility.Ability to clearly communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.Ability to safely provide care to patients.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills/Experience:
