Information OfficerThe Chief Information Officer (CIO) is a senior executive responsible for leading the strategic direction, development, implementation, and management of information technology (IT) systems, security, and services within a healthcare organization. The CIO plays a critical role in leveraging technology to improve patient care, operational efficiency, and overall organizational performance. The position will perform the following duties:
REQUIREMENTSRESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Developing and managing technology budgets, resources, and vendor relationships to optimize costs and maximize value for the organization.
Working closely with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals, clinical operations teams, and IT experts across all departments to achieve our goals.
Ensure all applicable health care-specific regulations (e.g., HIPAA, HITECH Act), compliance and security standards specific to electronic health information are met or exceeded.
Oversee and improve systemwide contracts while reducing costs and redundant systems.
Optimize infrastructure, performance, and risk mitigation.
Enhance development of employees, cross train, and ensure tasks are managed within timelines accurately.
Plan and lead all system upgrades. Produce GANT charts with project milestones for executive leadership and internal team management.
Leading initiatives to seamlessly integrate healthcare technology and informatics into clinical workflows, optimize delivery, enhance outcomes, streamline management, and ensure regulatory compliance.
Empower and motivate others, manage stress and conflict, lay a foundation of mutual respect and trust, and develop staff by encouraging their contributions.
Participate in programs and activities that promote workplace diversity and a positive employee relations environment.
Ensuring that the technological resources meet the company's short and long-term needs.
Directing the design, development, and deployment of innovative technology solutions that meet the needs of departments and stakeholders.
Ensuring the security, reliability, scalability, and performance of our technology infrastructure and systems.
Leading the development and implementation of the company's overall technology roadmap, aligning it with the organization's goals and objectives.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Healthcare Administration, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
Extensive experience (typically 10+ years) in healthcare IT leadership roles, with a proven track record of driving IT transformation, innovation and EHR system implementation.
In-depth knowledge of healthcare industry regulations, standards, and best practices, including HIPAA, HITECH (Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act), and Meaningful Use requirements.
Strong technical expertise in IT infrastructure, EHR systems, telehealth solutions, cybersecurity, data analytics, and emerging technologies relevant to healthcare delivery.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across diverse stakeholders.
Strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, with a focus on delivering measurable business value and improving patient outcomes through technology-enabled solutions.
