We are currently looking for a dynamic, experienced General Manager to lead The AVA Hotel a Curio Collection Paso Robles and its dedicated associates.

POSITION PURPOSE
Provide the leadership expertise that ensures the effective and efficient operation of the hotel, including, but not limited to, the quality and legal defensibility of services provided, and the achievement of stated operational goals and profitability objectives. Manage the operations of the hotel in order to maximize profitability and to ensure superior guest service and product quality.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the effective management of the Rooms, Food & Beverage and Engineering functional areas to maximize financial performance while upholding quality standards and maximizing levels of guest satisfaction.
Coordinate, direct, and manage the hotel operations to achieve maximum profitability and ensure guest satisfaction.
Direct the maximization of room revenue by anticipation of market shifts, development and monitoring of annual business and marketing plans.
Train and motivate Staff Members to provide services to guests which meet the company’s standards of quality.
Set quarterly goals for each department and monitor the progress towards achieving these goals.
Ensure the development of a realistic and attainable strategic business plan that defines operational goals and profitability objectives.
Conduct regular staff meetings.
Oversee HR matters including interviewing, hiring, training, and performance management.
Encourage and maintain open and clear communication with all internal departments.
Attend hotel operational meetings and staff member related events.
Ensure facility compliance with government and other regulatory laws and guidelines.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to sit at a desk for up to four (8) hours per day and stand for extended periods.
Must be able to lift up to 45 lbs. and push/pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs.
Requires good communication skills and the ability to observe and distinguish product quality.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Hotel/Restaurant or Business Administration, or equivalent education/experience required.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of six years hotel management experience required, including two years in a similar capacity.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS
Ability to maintain a valid driver's license as the position may require the operation of motorized vehicles.
EXEMPT POSITION
Exempt Staff Members are not covered by the overtime provisions and do not receive overtime pay.
GROOMING
All Staff Members must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance per Azul Hospitality standards.
ATTENDANCE
Regular attendance is essential to the successful performance of this position. Staff with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action.
