Project Overview:

The Cheniere Corpus Christi Liquefaction (CCL) Project is a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) export facility located on the north shore of Corpus Christi Bay in Gregory, Texas. The 1,000+ acre facility started bulk early works in July 2015 as the first greenfield export facility in the United States. Bechtel has successfully and safely completed construction and it now consists of three operating Trains with an LNG production capacity of approximately 15 million tons per year (MTPA), three LNG storage tanks with combined capacity of 480,000 cubic meters of LNG, 2 Jetty superstructures that can accommodate the world’s largest vessels, and dozens of associated buildings and utilities.

Corpus Christi Liquefaction Project Stage 3 (CCL3) is a new phase at the existing CCL facility and will consist of seven midscale liquefaction trains with an LNG production capacity of approximately 10 MTPA and associated infrastructure including utilities. CCL3 will perform all this work predominantly on a direct hire basis with support from only a few specialty and service subcontractors.

Job Summary:

The Operations Shift Supervisor (OSS) will direct and supervise assigned client operations staff and internal DCS board operators during the commissioning, startup and initial operations phases of the project. The OSS will interact directly with not only their direct operator reports, but also with CSU discipline leads to ensure the plant is ready for startup and that the startup strictly follows the approved procedures for the facility. The successful candidate must be willing to work a flexible schedule as required by the project, including but not limited to split shift, nightshift, holidays, and/or weekends.

Major Responsibilities:

Develops and implements training activities directed at both employee competencies and technical skills for on project, or plant operations wide basis

Develops highly technical learning programs to effectively train the employees and support the adequate operations of the plant in accordance with a systematic approach to training

Partners with Operations Managers and Training Manager to design, implement and conduct budgeted technical training for a project or plant

Provides operational direction and guidance to instructors and administrative employees as assigned

Arranges for technical assistance as required

Performs quality reviews to improve training efficiency, processes, and cost efficiency

Researches and studies advancements in educational technologies and technical methods

Recommends and/or implements solutions, modifications, and enhancements to technical training programs

Acts as the liaison for various audits by customers, authorities, and certifying organizations

Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:

Advanced knowledge of pertinent industry and regulatory standards.

Basic knowledge of chemistry and thermodynamics.

Heater operations

Demonstrated experience with initial startup & shutdown trouble shooting

Experience with initial equipment and system startup

Experience with operation of refrigeration gas compressor equipment and systems in accordance with the process design requirements including its operation from local control systems/panels.

Knowledge and experience in the scopes of work inherent in operations and maintenance projects.

Demonstrated ability to motivate and lead team members and direct reports effectively & positively in a collaborative team environment.

Demonstrated ability to problem-solve in high pressure situations.

Heavy industrial direct hire construction experience in a supervisory role commensurate with the type of work to be undertaken.

Experience in oil, gas, refinery, petrochemical, minerals processing, or power generating station construction.

Preferred

Experience on an LNG construction site especially along the U.S. Gulf Coast.

Experience in LNG or Cryogenic startup, commissioning, and operations.

Experience as a Shift Supervisor, Senior Supervisor or Commissioning Manager.

Understanding of applicable Bechtel work processes including Standard Work Process Procedures (SWPPs) and Standard Test & Commissioning Procedures (STCPs).

Good working knowledge of Project Bechtel Standard Applications (BSAPs) including TEAMWorks, Setroute, Unifier, Aconex, DSCS, PTR, Agile, Navisworks, and other automation tools which are used on Bechtel projects.

Good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.

Experience managing technical services subcontracts.

Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards.
