Position SummaryThis position is responsible for safely and efficiently operating a Pit Loader and maintaining the quality of product stockpiles. The pit loader will maintain safe working speeds and promote site safety by asserting leadership of truck drivers onsite.
Hours: Monday-Thursday: 7 AM - 5 PM

ResponsibilitiesOperates a pit loader within the company guidelines and safety standardsCompletes daily pre and post inspection of working areas and ensures they are equipped with adequate berms and roadwaysPerforms pre-shift safety inspection on equipment and reports needed repairs to the supervisorEnsures safe operations around conveyors, surge piles and crushersPerforms daily preventative maintenance - tire pressure, oil, grease, diesel fuel, hoses for leaks and all moving parts for proper functionMaintains safe traffic flow throughout the siteOperates other equipment such as excavators and haul trucks in a safe manner as neededAides in the training of co-workers as neededPerforms other duties as assigned by supervisorRequirements
Must be safety conscious, dependable, and motivatedWill take an active role in the plant safety initiativesWilling to work overtime and weekends as neededWilling to cross-train in different areas of productionEducation & Experience
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience to perform the responsibilities associated with this positionExperience in the maintenance and operation of mobile equipment and/or equipment used processing plantsSix (6) months of experience in the operation and maintenance of a front-end loader preferredKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Able to work cooperatively with others toward a shared goal, contribute actively to the team efforts, and possess a positive attitude in working with others as a teamPossess effective coordination and communication skillsPossess strong mechanical aptitude, knowledge and skillsAble to handle multiple projects simultaneously and to perform duties with minimal supervisionAble to work varying shifts as needed, outdoors, in varying weather conditionsAble to adhere to MSHA guidelines and plant safety rules and regulationsAble to ensure a safe work environment by prioritizing safety, then quality, followed by production
