Global Payroll Manager (US & LATAM)

Manages payroll operations responsible for the processing and auditing of multiple payroll cycles for a specific region. Develops processes to ensure accurate and timely delivery of payroll payments and reporting in alignment with applicable policies, legislation, and internal controls procedures and monitors compliance.

Responsibilities:

Develops and manages procedures for the preparation, documentation and disbursement of payroll checks, accounting transactions and employee benefit payments; generates information for general ledger postings.

Manages the operational relationship with outside payroll service providers; approve system changes, and verify upgrades, or government-mandated changes to the payroll system.

Manages accurate and timely processing of year-end activities, including coordination with services providers.

Ensures accuracy and completeness of payroll process documentation.

Ensures payroll operations comply with internal and external audit requirements, and coordinates responses to auditor inquiries.

Ensures adequate internal controls on payroll systems and processes and keeps current with compliance on new and existing payroll-related legislation.

Leads the development of regional financial and operational plans and monitors performance.

Coach and mentor payroll team members; manages staff by assigning work according to availability, skills, and developmental needs; assesses performance and provides feedback to direct reports.

Education and Qualifications:

College, university, or equivalent degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.

Certifications:

Certified Public Accountant, Certified Management Accountant, Chartered Accountant, or similar certification required.

Experience with acquisitions and divestitures with large organizations.

Strong experience with US payroll/legislation

Some experience with Mexico, Columbia, and Brazil payroll/legislation

Experience with ADP WFN, ADP Globalview, and ADP eTime preferred

Knowledge of complex payroll processes, exec comp, expats, union contracts, mobility, prevailing wage contracts

Experience building a team that can deliver results locally and across borders.

5+ years managing a team located in multiple countries.

Maintaining a partnership relationship with the Leadership teams for the US and LATAM payrolls

Ensuring team are fully trained to provide backup across all payrolls

Assigning tasks across the team based on skills

Management of people and processes required

Remote role with the requirement to be onsite as needed.

Ideally read, write, and communicate bilingually at an intermediate level.

Able to travel 25% or more while implementing payrolls in multiple countries and routinely as needed to ensure continuity of payroll services.
