DescriptionThe Department of Psychiatry at MaineHealth Maine Medical Center Portland (MH MMCP) is seeking a well-qualified BC/BE Adult Psychiatrist or Adult, Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our Psychiatric Emergency Service as a faculty clinician-educator.About the position:Join a pool of emergency psychiatrists to provide shift coverage in the ED, 12 hours/day, 7 days/week, following a hospitalist scheduling model.Average of 13 shifts/month, with ample blocks of time off for a full-time position.Some weekend and holiday work is expected, with no overnights.Assess patients in the 6 bed Acute Psychiatry Unit (APU) embedded in the Emergency Department or in the emergency department proper.Support from interdisciplinary team comprised of Psychiatrists, Advanced Practice Providers, Social Workers, and Nurses4200 patients are assessed annually, and our service is highly valued by our colleagues and stakeholders.The Psychiatric Emergency Service is a major teaching resource for the hospital.Involvement in training experiences for adult psychiatry residents, child & adolescent psychiatry fellows, Tufts University School of Medicine medical students, and trainees in other fields.Our psychiatrists hold faculty appointments at Tufts University School of Medicine.A culture of continuous quality improvement, and high performance in the areas of safety, quality, and satisfaction.Benefits include a competitive salary, substantial CME stipend, retirement plans, and comprehensive health insurance plans.MaineHealth is a not-for-profit integrated health system whose vision is, "Working together so our communities are the healthiest in America."
