Jumoke Academy is seeking for a part-time Social Media and Content Specialist Intern
Work hours: 10 hours a week
Location: Jumoke Academy Districtwide
Reports to: CEO/Superintendent or Administrative Designee
Job Summary:
The Social-Media and Content Specialist Intern will support the district's communication and outreach efforts by creating and managing content for various social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and others. The intern will collaborate with leadership to develop a consistent social media presence that promotes district initiatives, student achievements, and key messages.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Content Creation & Design:
• Design engaging and visually appealing posts for social media platforms.
• Create photo montages and short video vignettes that highlight district activities, events, and milestones.
• Assist with offsite location filming to capture content for posts.
• Social Media Management:
• Develop a social media content calendar, ensuring consistent and timely posting.
• Monitor social media platforms to engage with followers and respond to comments or messages.
• Proofread all social media content to ensure accuracy and professionalism.
• Track and report social media metrics, including reach, engagement, and follower growth.
• Collaboration & Meetings:
• Attend weekly meetings with the CEO/Superintendent or an administrative designee to discuss upcoming content and campaigns.
• Conduct regular campus visits to gather content and stay informed about district activities.
• Administrative Support:
• Assist with the organization and scheduling of social media campaigns, aligning content with district events and priorities.
• Ensure all posts align with district policies and brand guidelines.
Qualifications:
• Pursuing a degree in Communications, Marketing, Graphic Design, Journalism, or related field.
• Experience with social media platforms and content creation.
• Basic knowledge of graphic design and video editing tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Spark, iMovie, or similar).
• Strong attention to detail, proofreading skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Skills:
• Experience managing social media accounts for an organization.
• Knowledge of social media analytics and tools for tracking engagement.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team.
Work Conditions:
• Weekly in-person and or Zoom meetings required.
• Occasional travel to campus locations or off campus events for filming and gathering content.
