The New York State Office of Mental Health is seeking a Data Quality Review Clerk to join the Office of Population Health and Evaluation Medical Informatics Unit. This unit is responsible for collecting, entering, verifying, analyzing, and reporting data from various survey projects related to mental health services and programs. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, confidence and professionalism in obtaining information over the phone, strong organizational and attention to detail skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively on multiple tasks and deadlines.

Duties and Responsibilities:Contact hospital staff via telephone to confirm and validate daily hospital survey informationUpdate hospital data validation tracking documents, help desk guides, and data dictionary as neededPrepare and mail survey packages to mental health programs across the stateProvide customer support to survey respondents and staff via phone, email, and the Help Center applicationReview the data collected from surveys for quality, accuracy, and completenessAssist in maintaining and improving the systems for data cleansing and data entryEnter the data into various computer applications using web, keyboard or scanning methodsTrack the receipt of completed surveys and follow up with providers and field offices as neededReview and process applications for exemptions from survey reporting requirementsConduct testing of computer applications used for data collection and reportingExtract and analyze data from applications and generate statistical reportsComplete all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner with minimal errorsHandle sensitive and confidential data in compliance with HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) proceduresOther tasks may be assigned as necessary.Minimum Qualifications:

A minimum of an associate degree, in psychology, sociology, social work, public health or a related social science field1 year of data entry skills1 year of experience with data collection, testing computer applications, MS Office products (Excel, Access), or similar softwarePreferred Qualifications:

Preferably a bachelor's degree, in psychology, sociology, social work, public health or a related social science field.
