Job Description:The Risk Division is a team of specialists charged with managing the firm's credit, market, liquidity, operational and capital risk. Whether assessing the creditworthiness of the firm's counterparties, monitoring market risks associated with trading activities, or offering analytical and regulatory compliance support, our work contributes directly to the firm's success. The division is ideal for collaborative individuals who have strong ethics and attention to detail.The Capital Risk team within the Risk Division provides an independent view into the capital decisions across the firm. The team advises on regulatory capital interpretations, implementations, and the firmwide capital management decisions.Job Summary:The candidate will join the Capital Risk team, responsible for monitoring, analyzing, interpreting, and challenging the firm's regulatory capital requirements and capital management processes. This will involve working closely with stakeholders across the firm, including trading desks, Controllers, Legal, Corporate Treasury and Technology, and will require a strong control mindset. Other responsibilities include oversight of the firm's capital strategy and the firm's proximity to capital requirements.Responsibilities:Understanding capital regulations and determining appropriate capital interpretationsCommunicating thoughtful analysis on sophisticated regulatory capital matters to senior managers, businesses, risk departments and other impacted areasValidation of regulatory capital requirement approaches and calculations.Understanding and challenging the firm's overall capital management strategy
Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's degree0-3 years of prior work experience in a relevant fieldProficient to advanced skills with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)Strong organizational skills - ability to manage a constantly evolving inflow of projects and prioritiesEffective communicator - both orally and in writingTeam player with positive attitude and strong work ethicStrong ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlinesAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentSelf-motivated, proactive and willing to take on additional responsibilities, ability to run with issues, and get involved as necessary.Control-oriented mindset
Salary Range
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $85000-$120000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
